Date: 9/18/2012 Volunteers Needed for a Research Study A Double-Blind Randomized Study of IV Infusion of Magnesium Sulfate versus 5% Dextrose in a Crossover Design in Male and Female Volunteers with Treatment-Resistant Depression The Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine and the Medical Wellness Center are conducting a research study to determine if magnesium sulfate has an effect on depression symptoms. The results of this research will be used to help develop additional strategies for improving depression. To participate in the study: * You must be at least 21 years of age and speak English. * You must have mild to moderate treatment-resistant depression. * The study will require your participation for 8 days. You will need to provide blood and urine samples during 5 study visits and complete several questionnaires at each visit. * You will be compensated for participating in the study. * You will also be given a meal at certain study visits.
