Guest guest
I've tried those paraffin wax machines and they feel good while the wax is on, but it cools quickly. You can buy them for around $20 to $30 at beauty supply stores or Linens & Things, Bed Bath & Beyond, etc. I also have mitts that you warm in the microwave - again, they feel good when they're on, but I don't know of any lasting solution. _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Jan Sent: Sunday, June 29, 2008 10:34 PM Subject: [ ] hand problem I am trying to take an online class and I'm having terrible pain and swelling in my hands and fingers. Guest guest
I have Dragon Naturally Speaking 9. It was about $70.00. I like it. you do have to train it to your voice, and it is funny at times, but one you get it, it works well I think. Heidi in Mass. Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. Guest guest
Jan, I saw a hand therapist for a while. They can apply steroid cream to ouchy areas and they zap you with this unit that is supposed to help with inflammation. They can also fit you for a brace and coach you on exercises that help. If you see an ortho, you might ask if there are specific joints that might benefit from cortisone injections. Guest guest
you can pick up a pair of spandex gloves, with the fingertips cut off, at your local drug store. they come in sizes, and feel good to wear while typing. it would be in the area of ace bandages. gentle hugs! Guest guest
Hi, I have had reoccuring bilateral carpal tunnel for 28 yrs. I don't if you pain is from the nerves in the wrist or a form of arthritis. mine is the nerve. Before the dr prescribed lidoderm patches, he had me use the bengay and wait 20 minutes before typing. now they have those patches. i cut them to fit my wrists. that does help considerably when i'm planning on typing for a bit. One thing the bengay patch helps with is the inflamation of the canal and surrounding tissue so it reduces the pressure on the Nerve. Do you wake up in the night from pain in your hands and wrist? That is when i use the lidoderm patches (5% lidocaine). they are perscribed by my doctor. I cut them in half and place them on my inner part of my wrists about half an hour before bed. The nerves in the wrist are closer to the surface so they mildly number the nerves enogh to relieve the pain so i can sleep. you can still use you hands. they don't stop function. they just calm the nerve and relieve the pain. they last about 12-16 hrs. When i was in college i even used them during the day. I'm not a DR and I know we are all different but maybe it will help you. Sincerely, , " marciastoyle " <marciastoyle@...> wrote: > > you can pick up a pair of spandex gloves, with the fingertips cut off, > at your local drug store. they come in sizes, and feel good to wear > while typing. it would be in the area of ace bandages. gentle hugs! > Marcia > > > > > > > > From: Jan <_janrichardson98@janrichar_ (mailto:janrichardson98@) > > > Subject: [ ] hand problem > > _ @groRA-SUPP_ (mailto: ) > > Date: Sunday, June 29, 2008, 10:33 PM > > > > I am trying to take an online class and I'm having terrible pain and > > swelling in my hands and fingers.
