27% cut in Medicare payments to Doctors

The House of Representatives has voted 229 to 193 to reject the Senate’s

payroll tax break bill that would delay a 27% cut in Medicare payments to

doctors, and instead voted for leaders in both chambers to conference to

work out a longer-term solution, but leaders of the Democratic-controlled

Senate say they will not return to Washington to conference.
