Here it is 2:30 in the morning, I'm in a whole bunch of pain, can't sleep, can't move, can't get comfortable either sitting, standing or lying down and all I had were my thoughts and they were getting as sick as my body. You reminded me that even with RA pain and suffering, " this too shall pass " . Thank you very much for being there for me when I needed it. " Hi Bob I've been there too and know how you're feeling. is spot on about depression too. It's easy to slip into a viscious cycle of pain = can't sleep = exhaustion = worse pain = depression...Pain always feels worse when you're tired/depressed. At times like that I've needed more pain relief (and prednisone too usually) and sleeping pills (and anti-depressants). When you can get the pain under control and can get a good night's sleep, you'll cope much better. Talk to your doctor: take your wife with you and be really assertive if necessary.
