Guest guest
Had a RA appt yesterday. So far been testing negative. I have been having the worst flare so far, for about 3 weeks now. She walked into the room and asked me why my face was red. (not sure it is always red). She took me off some medication and even decrease some medication. I have a GI appt on Monday and she wants a colonoscopy. Alot of stomach issues. She was going over my feet and knee xrays when me and she made a comment about my inflammation or they way my xrays looked, had lupus signs. So I asked her, (thinking this whole time..6 months) I have RA. She told me she was leaning more towards Lupus. I havent studied up on Lupus ?? Are they that much the same. Are the treatments that much alike ? She gave me a shot of steriod, (she told me she would be giving me these every 3-4 weeks,Im afraid of the pills..im big enough). and a b-12 shot...YEAH..wants to see me in 2 weeks. My husband is going with me on my next appt because i get confused...any advise on what may be happening ?? Wishing all a pain free day... Guest guest
, The symptoms of RA and lupus can be very much alike, especially in the early stages of disease. But they are two very different diseases. Some of the treatments are the same. Is your ANA positive? Do you have any other antibodies? Guest guest
, So far she stated everything is negative. In the last 2 months I have broken out in a rash. Now I have always had times when my face would get red. But the last couple of times, you can see where the lines come down from my cheeks, really wierd. The last time I went to the RA I gave urine, and she asked for it again this time. So that is why my husband is going with me in 2 weeks because, she spends about an hour or 2 with me when I go and She gives me so much information, and repeats it to me, that by the time I leave I am kind of confused. I do know she said, I am treating you for lupus and I just hope it doesnt take 10 years to show up in your bloodwork and that is why everytime I go in she repeats the blood work..what do you think ? Guest guest
, Have you only seen just this one rheumatologist? I would seek another opinion. Guest guest
yes so far I have only seen one RA, but I really like her. My husband or my brother are going with me on Monday to my next appt. I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy yesterday, they removed some polyps and biopsed 2 sections of my stomach, one due to a hiatal hernia and one because of inflamation. The results also stated I have Diverticulosis which I think is common. All I can say, is I am feeling good today !!
