Guest guest
Hi Melynda It was honestly one of the best things i have tried, Im not sure what you wanted to know so ill tell you what happened and how it felt. First i had the most amazing massage she really got stuck in and it was good to have someone really work on all the knots that give me so much bother! She said this is done in order to warm up the tissue ready for the needles. I had 10 needles in total, but she did say if she does it again she will also put 2 in my feet, based on the chinese principles they should be placed in heaven (neck) and earth (feet). I had one needle in each hand , just at the fleshy area between the thumb and forefinger, and these were the only 2 i felt going in, maybe because i could see them, the rest were all across my neck and shoulder area, i didnt feel any of them going in at all She asked me what i felt, and i said " funny " which is apparently good! not funny haha but funny weird, then i started to feel like a pressure in the areas where the needles were but nothing unpleasant I was left like that for 20 minutes and she just came and removed the needles, I was soooo relaxed, another 5 minutes and i would have been sleeping! when i got up she said to move my neck and it was pain free, which it hasnt been since may! The pain was away until i got up on saturday morning, and as i said i had a fantastic nights sleep from it. She also told me not to drink caffeine or alcohol afterwards My friend has acupuncture regularly and she assures me if you have it regular the effects last longer each time, im definitely willing to have it again and will be sure to let you all know how i get on. I think acupuncture and reiki have a similar approach its all based on " CHI " and releasing the blocked energy in our bodies, cleansing toxins and alleviating pain, its all about balance. I hope this helps, i am aware that alternative therapies dont work for everybody but if you have been considering it i can only say give it a go theres nothing to loose and if it doesnt work then maybe something else will Sharon xx [ ] Re: Enbrel or Imdur causing headaches? Sharon, Thanks. As you could tell, this was my first and I pray my last. I truly believe that it was drug induced. The worse pain lasted for 14hrs and then it was down to a really bad throbbing headache for about 12 more hours. I was contemplating calling my neuro-surgeon. I figured anything that bad for that long was something major. I am happy to say, once again I was wrong. Thank you for the suggestions and I will save this email, just in case. My GP told me they were from the inflammation in my neck and shoulders, this year it all hit a peak when my neck muscles went into spasm now a rough day with my neck means the headache will come at some point in that day. > > The things i do ease it are - lie down with a wet flannel over my eyes, or i have the eye masks you can keep in the fridge and these help too, take painkillers which dont always help cause if i wait until its at its peak they dont even take the edge off, do neck exercises throughout the day and now my neck is a little better i go swimming to try and build my muscles up again, i do attend hydrotherapy also and i have a soft collar that i only wear in bed at night, also on friday i had acupuncture for the first time and the relief was amazing!! > > I hope something from here helps you but i guess we all know that its different for everybody! > > Take Care > > > > Sharon xx > ------------ --------- --------- ------
