Guest guest
Hello, I spent four hours being treated in the E.R. today for an anaphylactic reaction. I have no idea what it was in response to. The only new thing that I had was a whole wheat cracker seasoned with tumeric that I had a few of right before the allergic reaction. I have no problems with other spices that I have had reactions to. I do have seasonal allergies, (hay fever, ragweed, pollen, pine trees, molds) and severe allergies to latex and iron dextran infusions. I don't have alot of experience with food allergies, can I be tested for an allergy to tumeric to see if that is the actual trigger that send me to the hospital to today? Any suggestions? I was now told to carry an epipen with me at all times. thanks in advance Sue NOTICE: This confidential message/attachment contains information intended for a specific individual(s) and purpose. Guest guest
I don't know if you can be tested for tumeric. I do know that the most obivious offending food item may not be the one. I am sure there are several on our list serve that can help you better then me. I do stronly suggest if you still have the box or if you can find a box of these crackers, to check out all the ingredients. This might mean finding a printer and enlarging the lable so you can really read it. If it is tumeric you will really have to read lables as it may be used as a " natural food color " in anything yellow or orange. Think bright yellow rice mixes.
