Guest guest
Hi all, I have been reading for a while and thought I would introduce myself. I have been having problems for 8-10 years now with various things mentioned along the way but no real diagnosis since all my test come back normal except one or two mild positives on RA factor. My current RA dr. is thinking somewhere between RA and Lupus even though the tests are still negative. I had avoided trying the different RA meds because I felt if they didn't know what was wrong with me how could they treat it? I guess being obsinate wasn't very helpful. I finally went to a new RA dr. when I felt I was about to loose my 3 day a week job. When all I am doing is resting for 4 days to work 3 days, I figured something had to give. I am glad to read some posts about some of you that actually are doing normal everyday things. I would love to get back to walking daily, yoga and gardening. Something the pain has taken away from me. I tried Plaquenil and was allergic. Started on injectable Methotrexate last week and am very hopeful this will help me. Still taking some prednisone and dreading having to give it up. I was taking so much pain meds and it wasn't making a difference and when the prednisone actually made an improvement on how I felt, I was amazed and then sad to hear I couldn't keep it up! I remember when this started I had some good days, for the last 2-3 years I don't remember any good days, just worse all the time. I do so hope I get some good days with meds!!! Keep the stories of those of you that feel " normal " !!! It gives me hope! Dawn and the fur zoo
Guest guest
I'm not a hundred percent but I was able to get off prednisone and I have good days, and occasionally I have great days. No days are bad all day long. I do feel discouraged at times, but it passes. I have to work on my attitude regularly. And I have tried several different meds. They all work but either I have a problem or hope something else will work better. I do wonder if I'll have to accept some of the changes in how I feel and just try to eat healthy and exercise more so that I'll feel as good as I can. I'm glad your going to try some meds. I bet you'll have more good days and fewer days that you need to spend at rest. Blessings, Elaine
