Guest guest
Bob, Prednisone messes with my taste. I have not had that happen with MTX, but you know how different we all are. Be careful that you don't end up a work-a-holic like Dodge. I get up at 4:15am but don't leave home until 6:30am. It takes me that long to get to moving and get myself together. I hope you get some rest this weekend. Shirley > > I suspect it's one or the other, but being my first week on MTX I'd > figure I'd ask. I think I tend to over compensate for feeling I'm not 100% by trying to over do it with things I think I can do. The insomnia is bad enough and it's hard for me to slow down. The Prednisone gives me false energy and has done a great job of keeping the inflammation is check but I'm paying for it tonight. Not to mention that I spent 2 hours this afternoon at a Physical Therapist who was doing an assessment as to my 'limitations " . Joints that were quiet due to the Pred. are now reminding me that this isn't a dream and I actually do have RA. A good nights sleep would be a blessing. I know I can't live on 3-4 hours sleep a night. Thanks for bringing me once again back to reality. Bob
Guest guest
Hi Bob - my guess would be its the Methotrexate. Are you taking folic acid the days before and the day after the MTX (none on the day of)? The first couple of doses that I took, I had similar feelings in my mouth, but they went away by the third dose. I think its just our bodies adjusting to the new meds. Hope this helps.......Doreen I suspect it's one or the other, but being my first week on MTX I'd figure I'd ask. Something is making the back of my tongue and throat a bit raw and it's also realling messing up my sense of taste. I'm still on 20 MG of Prednisone so figured it might be that but since I also just started the Methotrexate I was wondering if this is something I have to look forward to longer term. Thanks. By the way, the insomnia from the Pred. is a real joy. Up at 3:30 and at my desk downtown at 5AM this morning. Normal starting time is 8. That's even after taking a Lunestra prescribed by the Rheumy. Hmmm... Bob
