Guest guest
Hey there: RA is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the joints. OA is a condition in which the cartilage, fluid and other things that cushion the joints is worn away, so that the joints are bone on bone. People with RA can also have OA and vice versa. You can try anti-inflamatories to help if you have any inflamation, or you could try narcotic pain killers. Good luck, -- Dodge " I make the living, my dog makes the living worthwhile. I have not messaged in a while because I found out that I don't have RA, but have read some of your messages and learned alot about the condition. but, I do have OA and have had a lot of problems with it. Injections and on Nabumetone {sp} for pain. But its not helping. Can someone give me some insite on OA and how I could get some relief ? I know this is not a group on OA, but, maybe somehow related? Whats the difference between OA and RA? I know with RA, your body attacks your joints, right? But with OA, what causes that? I know that weight has a factor, but I feel pain in my wrist, ankles, and elbows. I don't know much about it just that my joints {not just my knees} hurt alot. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia also and don't really know if thats causing my joint pain ? Dr. has tested for RA and negative result. But OA definatley. Any insite would be appriciated.
