Guest guest
Hi diane, I was recently diagnosed with RA and started on mtx in feb but had lots of weird sensations on it like burning in my joints, chills, etc. Then the doc started me on enbrel injections along with the mtx and i started throwing up for 2 days a week. Now he is taking me off of everything and basically starting over. I am very frustrated with the whole thing and trying to find the right meds. the swelling in my hands was actually going down and the pain and fatigue got better but the other side effects were worse. i also noticed that the fatigue was much worse after an injection for at least 48 hrs. we're still searching for the right treatment. i go back in 3 weeks if i can stand the pain that long. i feel for you. --- In , " diane crawford " <nuttynurse25@...> wrote: > > I have been dx with inflammatory arthritis...rheumotoid factor > positive..I just took my 9th dose of mtx and find that pain is somewhat > worst...I just dont understand why my sedrate is coming down finally > and Im not feeling any better with the pain and fatigue..I wasnt > sleeping so. Guest guest
Diane, I know it's very frustrating. I have tried plaquenil and broke out in a rash, then methotrexate and Enbrel. both of those made me throw-up. I don't know what's next. More blood work and then we'll see. I sometimes wonder which is worse - the disease or the treatment. Does anyone else feel that way? I don't mean to be such a whiner, i am just really frustrated with my options right now. I'm still searching for the right drug. My forties have been pretty rough. Open heart surgery in 03 for an unexplained mass growing in my heart, then i found out i have a blood clotting disorder but it still doesn't explain the heart thing. I now have asthma and heart rhythm issues along with the fibromyalgia and RA, but my doc said it could be lupus instead of RA because i am seronegative. I guess i have a tendency to ask what next? I know it could always be worse. Thanks for letting me vent. it's nice to share with people who have been there and still are there. I guess we all just have to hang in there together --- In , " diane crawford " <nuttynurse25@...> wrote: > > Thanks brenda for your support..I dont post much, but read the post much > of time..I have my second appt next week with the rheumy...I have so > much to ask him that I dont understand, esp my diagnosis..I saw him > then he ordred all this blood work..than he diagnosed me after all my > lab work came back and percribed the mtx over the phone. diane >
Guest guest
and the group I am sure it's happen to others, its happen to me. I take nausea pills from the doctor for some nausea, also I eat before I take my meds unless the scrips says not to. I don't think your venting or whining. It sounds like an informative message. And I like details, besides if you was venting or whinning, good, cause we are here to listen and help. I haven't thougt any one has been venting or whining so far lol. Everyone has been really interesting about their life on meds and RA.. Clora
