I know what you mean about taking all of these meds. I asked my

Rheumatologist about all that when he added Neurontin to my list. He

said some of his patients take 4 different meds. Not too encouraging,

but I guess that's the nature of this disease. I've had to resign

myself to the fact of " whatever works " although there are days when I

still question whether any of this is doing any good - especially when

a storm front is moving in. One day at a time HAS to be my new motto.

Mimi,

I know what you mean. Storms and low pressure are hell. I want to crawl into a

hole. Does

neurontin help? I have a glove and tocking -like tingling in arms and legs.

That's a huge dose of Prednisone! I'm sure you know that. I hate that

I have ever had to take it and have managed to stay on low doses for

20+ years not without damage but I'm concerned that they have Rxed

such a high dose for you. Is that temporary?

I know just what you are going through right now, and I am sure the high dose of

Pred. will soon begin to help you get through this bad flare up. I too have had

to take high dose's of Pred. at times, but it sure did the trick for me. We all

have to do what we can to help us through the bad, painfull days. etc. Remember,

we all care, and will pray you are soon feeling better, and your pain less and

less. God Bless you, and here is extra hugs for you.

I went to the rheummy today. The inflammation, stiffness and fatigue are worse

by the

day. I can't believe this. My doctor told me to go on 40mg pred a day and

continue with

the other drugs and Celebrex is okay if I need it. Wow, I'm in pain for sure and

it's getting

hard to open my hands but I hate having to take all these meds. Boo hoo (;

I was on low dose pred (10 mg.) for about 3 years. when my bone

density numbers started getting a little on the low side of normal,

my doc took me off of it. Personally, I felt WAY better when I was on

it, less flares, better mobility, more energy. I have a list of my

meds saved in the computer so when I go to a new doc I can just bust

it out and let them tack it on the chart. Saves a lot of time and

cuts down on the explaining. I had to have an abdominal ultrasound

yesterday, with a fibro flare, no meds, no food until afternoon. I

was NOT a happy girl. Went home and curled up with a heating pad and

a trashy novel. :o)
