I am one who is blessed with both. I actually have MCTD (mixed

connective tissue disease) and I have overlap of lupus and RA. I

guess I am special. LOL

I have the very high anti/RNP along with the anti-CCP a high ANA and

a high RF and anti-SM. Although MCTD is overlap of lupus,

scleroderma and polymyositis in some articles it mentions RA amoung

the mix. I have been to 2 different rheumatologist and unfortunately

my MCTD diagnosis is confirmed with lupus and RA being the culprits.

My anti-SM is positive sometimes and negative some but my high

anti/RNP and all the others never go negative.

,

About the MCTD definition - that's why I said " usually. " The

combination of lupus, systemic sclerosis, and polymyositis is the

classic definition.

Do you have any symptoms of systemic sclerosis or polymyositis?

Do you have erosions?

What about glomerulonephritis or any other sort of organ involvement

typical of lupus?
