Hi all! Today is my 41st birthday. Ugh! I can tell you I never thought Iwould

feel this old (from the pain) at 41. Anyways, I had a great daywith my family

going to Kent State University where my daughter wants togo next year. As if the

birthday didn't make me feel old enough! LOL! Iam SO wiped out from walking up

and down stairs (there must be at least300 sets of steps throughout the campus)

and trying to stay in the shadeso I don't break out in a killer rash from the

meds. But over all it wasa great time. Something I wanted to ask you all about

is thecortisone shots. About 7 years ago I got one in my wrist, way before

theRA, and it did a real number on my skin. It looks like my grandmothersskin,

so thin and wrinkly. My gp told me a while ago to never getanother shot. Has

anyone else had this happen?

and all,

First, happy birthday to . I have never taken cortisone shots

and my skin also looks old. I am only 57 but it looks like my

mother's did in her 70's and 80's. I have wondered for a while now

if this is a RA thing or did I do that bad taking care of myself?

Does anyone know?

Shirley, my skin looks pretty darn bad and it is not a RA thing for me, I just

didnt take care of it; too much sun working in the yard and not enought face

creams, etc. My mother is 80 and has always avoided sun and used the most

expensive cream and she does not have one wrinkle in her face. However, when she

was using all those expensive creams when I was growing up, my sister and I

didnt have enough to eat and shoes with holes in them so I guess It's all a

matter of priorities. a

I don't break out in a killer rash from the meds. But over all it wasa great

my skin. It looks like my grandmothersskin, so thin and wrinkly. My gp told me a

Happy Belated Birthday! (I'm only a month behind!)

Your daughter wants to go to Kent State. Do you live in Ohio? I live in Ohio (a

suburb of Cleveland), and was just wondering.
