About moderation status at RA-Support:

When they join, all new members come into RA-Support on moderation

status automatically. I must read each post from anyone who is on

moderation status and then approve it before the post reaches the

group. There is no set time after which I will change the status of a

new member. Usually, I wait until a member is a regular poster who is

not causing any problems before changing his or her settings.

There are circumstances under which I will place established members

back on moderation.

Members are placed on moderation in order to protect our group. A lot

of spammers join and attempt to post. People with other questionable

motives join and stay. Others have links in their messages or

signatures which aren't allowed, and they can't seem to remember to

remove them. And so on.

If you are being moderated and you post something objectionable, I

will reject the post along with an explanation. If your posts are not

showing up and you haven't received the post back with my note, please

contact me privately. Be sure my address is in your contact list or

address book; otherwise, rejections and other correspondence from me

may not make it to you. This is a big problem, particularly for AOL

users.

Whether you are on moderation status or not, if you have broken the

rules in some fashion and don't appear to be taking my suggestions

seriously, you will probably find yourself on moderation for quite

some time.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Moderator, RA-Support

Thank you, , dear. As both a group owner, and a group mod, I know what

you're dealing with. You're a peach!

Thank you for posting this...so I guess I was on moderation because I

do not post often enough? Wow....thanks anyway for the info. At

least now I can see the rules in black and white.

No, Toni, that's not the reason.

Michele,

As long as you don't benefit financially from having that link in your

signature, it's OK.

Thanks so much, Dodge.

I enjoyed your story about your encounter with the compassionate

physician. I hope you will see her again and that you'll get your pain

and diseases under good control.

I am currently 200+ messages behind but wanted to chime in on how runs this

group.

I love the way moderates this group. After being diagnosed in December, I

joined a minimum of 10 groups. Of all the groups I joined, this is the only one

I am still a member.

As for " fitting in/not fitting in " , I think it depends on alot of factors

mainly.... what other members are available at the time to welcome you and carry

on conversations. I know lately I have been online simply to download mail and

occasionally a subject line will catch my eye and I will type a quick response

and nothing else because... I am not online much.

I think that this is one of the most informative, supportive groups on I

would hate to see ANYONE leave because they felt unwelcome!

I just want to say, I joined this group and a few others last week re: RA.

I've dropped the others. This one has more information and better people.

Kudos to the moderator(s) on doing such a fantastic job.
