Jamye, you can also finance the amount. The less your payments is the longer you are financing for. I think in the long run it will be so worth it. Hi Jayme, I had the same problem with my insurance company. Well actually it was my PCP. I was told that I wasnt a good candidate because I too am "too healthy". I take meds for hypertension, I have heel pain, knees hurt, depression, anxiety. So this was when I decided to check out my other options. You dont have to come up with all the money. There are a few medical credit financing that you can apply to and also Dr. A has an in house financing plan which is what I did. I put $500.00 down to secure my surgery date, and then took $4500.00 to the hospital on the day of my surgery. The other $3200.00 Dr. A financed and my payments are $313.00 for 12 months. So dont get down and I understand the anger with these insurance companies!! Its ridiculous!! If they would only approve the surgeries for us they would actually save themselves money in the long run because there wouldnt be

so many ailments. Good Luck To You Jayme, Tammy I. __________________________________________________

Jamye. That really sucks! Insurance companies are so stupid. Guess you could stop taking your BP med, then when the BP hits about 220/120, you'd be eligible. I had an ultrasound tech who told me she was told that she'd have to GAIN 20 POUNDS TO BE "ELIGIBLE" TO HAVE THE SURGERY!! How crazy is THAT??!! Phyllis

I don't know what your insurance is, but have you gone to Kaiser? I

just found out that I could have had my surgery done by them.. They

just opened a clinic in Richmond, Ca... These were the people who

unfilled me when I had to go to the E.R due to trowing up SO much-my

stomach swelled and the band was TOO tight...

Hugs,

Donna

Hi, I have Kaiser Insurance and I was denied because I didnt meet the criteria. I had asked my Doctor what that meant and basically she said I was too healthy!! I am about 110 pounds overweight!! I think that should qualify by itself. I do have hypertension; depression; knee pain; exhaustion just to name a few of my ailments. Hi. I have EBMS insurance and I haven't had a official denial yet. But they have sent letters and told my family doctor over the phone that they will not cover the surgery. Not because it is not medically necessary but because they only cover non-surgical. I am trying to go through a hospital in Utah, that says they have lawyers that will fight my insurance but that doesn't look promising either. My husband makes enough money to make payments but no one will look past our credit score to see that. Thanks, Kerri

Hi Tammy, I am about 150 lbs over, with the same problems as you....turned me down also.....to healthy....I guess you have to be on deaths door to qualify...they just want you to pay to save them money.... it really stinks.... Hi Kerri, If you can come up with the $500.00 down and then the $4500.00 the day of surgery, Dr. A will do the in-house financing for the $3200.00. If you do the in-house financing they do not check your credit. All I had to do was fill out a form with my bank information on it and on the 20th of every month for 12 months they automatically take out the $313.00 that I owe. This for me was my only option also. I have way to many credit cards with way too many balances so I knew I wouldnt get financed with an outside company. So maybe this could work for you too. Hi Randeelee....that is common. my atty said 95% of the filers are denied

the first go around. that's why you get an atty..and i already had one when

they denied me.

Don't give up...the atty will get it for you probably...mine took 2 1/2 yrs.

But this is Ohio..they don't treat disabled well here. I had appts to visit

with the judge and he never saw me. I would go with my atty , the atty went

into see the judge and that was it...he never even looked at me. I went for a

medical evaluation Ohio site. they took blood and did not have my rheumatoid

factor marked for labs and I knew my r/f showed my r/a. so I checked it

myself knowing it would show high. I did not talk any pain meds that

morning...the

r/f is supposed to be 15 or under...mine was 492. I was approved without the

judge seeing me. why did he approve me this time? He told my atty that he

took one look at my rheum factor results and approved me because of that.

See..sometimes you have to make things happen on your own. amazing to me that

they didn't even want that test run....

I know many r/a patients don't show a high r/f in their labs but I knew that

mine did. I also cried in the evaluation office ... it was so frustrating

that I had to go thru all of that.

The r.f should have been checked off but they try not to approve you.

Good luck...you will get it, I am hoping. Just have to jump thru hoops.

Hugs..a

in Ohio

Well I got the denial letter today. Im so upset, feeling hopeless,

like there is no light at the end of my tunnel.I really think these

case analysts are souless, evil people, who get their kicks off

knocking people when theyre already down!I already contacted an

attorny though, Im not going down w/out a fight!!

Wish me luck & pray for me please people....
