Looks like that, all thanks to filmmaker Mira Nair, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's India initiative, Avahan. They have jointly launched AIDS JaaGO – an awareness project. What this means for us is that the Foundation and Mira will ensure the making and screening of a series of short movies by well-known Bollywood filmmakers, with a view to generating more awareness about HIV/AIDS. From the Indian film industry, mainstream filmmakers have been chosen, so that their familiar name helps bring in a mass audience appeal for these movies. Those who will be donning the director's hat for this project will be Mira Nair herself, apart from Santosh Sivan (The Terrorist), Vishal Bhardwaj (Omkara), and Kamal Hassan. All of them have been signed on to direct a film each. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/NEWS/City_Supplements/Delhi_Times/D irect_action_against_AIDS/articleshow/1320026.cms
