I had that too... not sure but I am pretty sure with both kids.

Developed RA and PA after birth of second child but not diagnosed until

several years later.

I am new to the group, but not so new to RA. I was diagnosed with RA

in late 1991-early 1992. I have always blamed the onset of my disease

on the fact that I was given a hemoglobin shot shortly after giving

birth to my first son in 1990. I am curious as to how many of us with

RA have A- blood, and how many of us have been given a hemoglobin shot.

And/or, how many of us were born to a parent who had been given a

hemoglobin shot before we were born. I am very interested in what you

I have RA, my blood type is O neg, no shots to either me or my mother. Hope

Hi. My blood type is A-. I had the shots after all three of my kids

were born, and had one halfway through my third pregnancy. That would

be 1975, 1979, and 1984. I did some some type of inflammatory problem

when my last baby was about 2, saw a rheumy and took Naprosen for a

while. He never really put a name on it. Then it went away. No more

problems until 2003, over 19 years after my daughter was born.

I'm A- and have three children. I received a total of six RhoGAM

(Rho(D) immune globulin) injections.

My mother received nothing.

It was about seven years after the birth of my last child that I began

to have health problems.

Hi ,

I am RH-, my ex was RH+, I received RhoGAM in 1972 when my son was

born. (I still have the wallet card somewhere.) My daughter was born

in 1968 and it was not available until later that year.

He was my second RH+ child and I had an extremely difficult

pregnancy. I had to quit working when I was 16 days late, because

that was how soon my body started trying to abort the RH+ fetus.

The doctor didn't have to stress not to try again. He said the next

time would be worse. I was so blessed that he made it.

Hi ,

I also have, " A " blood type, I have not taken the hemoglobin shot, and

not sure about my mom. I was given away when I was 9 months old, so

really don't know much about her. Tawny

How interesting this question is..I had three children. I am also A-

blood type and given birth all positive children, my husband is B+..I

have had a total of 7 rhogams shots...My ra symptoms started aprox 8

years after my last child was born...

My mother was rh + though..

But let me tell you a strange thing. I have had the series of hepitits

vaccine twice.. The first set i lost my antiobodies so, I had to get

another series..They said If it happen again, my body wont take

them..Has this ever happen to anybody?

I'm B- and I received Rhogam 3 times, once after each pregnancy. Actually my

daughter

was O- so maybe I didn't get it after her. I don't remember.

I blame my RA on genetics and Epstein-Barr Virus. I had my first symptom of RA

five

years after infection. The book " Autoimmune Diseases " says that there are

changes to the

immune system five years before the first symptom. They have also discovered

that there

are no true cases of Lupus without prior infection of EBV. Also, only 50% of

infections

result in mono, the rest are sub-clinical or resemble a cold or the flu. So,

75% of

Americans are infected, only 50% of which might know they they are infected.
