and Group,

Just a thought but I wondered if a brief summary of the 'rules' of the postings

by you as moderator , as a regular 'rolling' post say once a month might be

helpful? All groups are different, making an 'entrance'as a newbie can takes

courage.

Something similar happens on our local freecycle group. It could help new

joiners or infrequent posters rejoin or jump in. First posts can be tricky for

some especially if they are in distress and feeling isolated or misunderstood by

the world in gerneral, or if their views are not mainstream. It would be sad if

they didn't return for a while to see if it could give them a safe place to

come. I know you would agree with this?

Perhaps titled 'for the comfort of the group'  or similar??? so it didn't sound

in any way officious and non- welcoming.

I too was very interested to learn the work behind the scenes of how this 'ship'

generally stays so steady on rough seas with its 'passengers' with things in

common as well as many different outlooks.  Thanks, .

Groups are obviously only as good as their moderator!!

Compliment fully intended!

Best wishes

Thanks, Chris.

When people join RA-Support, they are sent a welcome message, which

includes the rules, from me and a, the owner.

The two most important rules are: no flaming and no selling. These

common sense rules also are listed in the description of our group on

the group page ( /).

Moderation is a tool available to all owners of groups. Any

member who wishes to see a particular group's settings (including

whether posts from new members are moderated) may go to the group's

home page (again, ours is

/) and click " Settings "

on the left-hand side of the page.

I don't often discuss the particulars of my moderation strategy

publicly, since that would lessen the effectiveness of the tool.

,  Thanks so much for all you do.  I'm sure most of of us never had any idea

how much you do for us.  I really value all the research info and articles you

post.  I was active several years back and then did not keep up for awhile and I

know a posted a lot at that time but have not seen her post since I have

been back. Can you update us on her status?  I know she has had RA for a long

time and it was her input on enbrel that gave me the courage to try it and it

has helped me tremendously for the last 3 years.

Hi, . Thanks for your kind words.

Dear a has had some personal matters to attend to, so she hasn't

been able to be here for quite some time now. I'm ever hopeful that

she will be able to return.
