So Yay! I got my shipment today of my Enbrel, and I want to start it

tomorrow. It says, however, that you should go to your doctor so they

can show you how to do it. I give myself injections everyday....do I

seriously need to see my doctor? It's sub-Q; not a huge deal right?

Also it said something about not injecting it into areas where you have

stretch marks.... uh, I have them all over my stomach, so I am planning

to put it in my thigh. Unfortunatly.... I am a lot more fluffy in my

belly than legs, so there is not much tissue to pull on my thigh. Any

suggestions?

Thanks All.

I am really excited to start this. It's my 1st biologic, nothing else

has worked, but I have a good feeling about this.

Hi , My husband is on Enbrel and it's doing alot of good for

him. He has ankylosing Spondylitis. I have given him his shots

behind the upper arm, in the fatty part. You couldn't do this by

yourself. I don't think so anyway, so if you have someone who could

hgive the shot to you there, that would be great. He uses the sure

click and it's so easy to use. The Enbrel is already in it and it is

so convenient. Good luck. God Bless, Melodie -

Oh I hope I can get Enbrel injections. When I go to my RA Wednesday I

am going to ask for it. I was going to ask for prednisone. But it

makes me eat a lot. and I am overweight. OMG please don't tell me

Enbrel makes you gain weight lol.

,

I take the Enbrel and I have alot of stretchmarks and have had to give them

there I found that with me the only problem I had was it was toughter skin

to push through. I have gave it in the forearm, thighs, and stomach, just

remember if it hurts pushing the plunger in, I find just stopping for a

second helps and then I continue. I would think that since you already know

how you should be ok.

, you can't have any more stretch marks than I do, and I inject

into my tummy. I just find a place in between the stretch marks. I am

also more fluffy in my tummy, so I don't even have to pull up any

tissue, LOL. Try it and see if you don't have plenty of room in between

the stretch marks.

If you already know how to do injections, I'd just go ahead and do it.

I hope the Enbrel works as well for you as it does for me.

Enbrel does not cause weight gain. I have had no adverse effects from

it. Of course, we all react differently to medications. Enbrel is very

expensive, so you have to have good insurance to help pay for it.

My doctor told me to come in for the first injection. When I finally

got the enbrel, I called the dr's office, but they would only show me

on certain days & times, of which I had prior engagements to attend

to. So I went ahead & did it at home instead of waiting another 3

weeks. The doctor's nurse assistant did not like that at all because

there " could have been a terrible dangerous reaction. " although, she

never did tell me what could have happened.

Hi ,

I'm excited for you. It will be hard but really you should wait and

have the nurse show you how to do it. There's a little trick to pull

the plunger back slightly to make sure you don't hit a capillary or

little vein and you want to make sure you have the correct angle.

Hmmm.. do you have a nurse in the neighborhood? Good luck!
