Guest guest
Roselyn and group; I moved to South Carolina from Cleveland Ohio....With in 3 weeks,,,,I developed an itching rash on my back and arms,,,,I went to the nurse practictiner and she said it was scabies and gave me a lotion to rub on me......I could't understand how it could be scabies cause we are very clean also at the time no pets and I wasnt in any wooded areas... I didn't have scabies and the lotion only made it worse.....I went to the hospital 3 times till I found a dermatologist....I had hives from my head to my toes,,that itched me to death.. What I am getting at is every nurse doctor people and family I saw said to check everything.....Could it been the water in a new place,,,,,could it been soap,,,,maybe it was the new air....What I am trying to say is check every and anything that is new and not new. Have you tried any new products such as ,,,detergents a new kind of drink,,,fabric softerner,,,,Dove is the best bath soap I use... Any new pets...New clothes that hasn't been washed yet,,,,I ate a tiny basket of peaches could it been a food that I just started being alergic too...maybe a hand cream....body lotion...Shampoo or dish liguid...milk,,,hot chocolate...peanuts any kind of nuts... I am terrified of itching now She gave me prednisone for the rash...It make me so hungry......YOU know the kind you take 10 the first day 9 the second day and so on.... The prednisone was great..I didnt itch anywher... I felt like a million dollars.. But the prednisone made me swell like a hot air balloon haaaaaaaaaa.... finally got down to the last dose and broke out again.... The doctor ask me if I was trying to get drugs,,, Omg I hate drugs that really upset me.... She gave me another batch of prednisone and I took that... with all the miserable side effects but it felt great not to itch... I really thought I was dying... I even made out a will on a sheet of paper... The end of the prednisone I started myself on benedryl and was able to calm it down.. I didnt want to go back to that doctor cause I was really upset she accused me of wanting drugs... To this day I don't know what cause the hives... I was taking a lot of asprins and tylenol at the time for headaches... Has your husband been taking any over the counter medicine... An allergic reaction can start from something you been using or taking for years... Please tell your husband,,,,I feel for him... I went through an horrible time with that itching....Also after that I was sensative to a lot of things... I use a white soap dove now... I use everthing that is hypo-allergenic also... I didnt have any pain in my joints at that time so he may have something different,,,but to be on the safe side check anything that he could have developed an allergy too,,,especially the things that are labeled for allergies like nuts milk etc......... At the time I did have a lot of body pain.. I contributed that to fibromyalgia I later was diagnosed with... I wasn't diagnosed with RA at that time.. I hope you find out what is causing his allergies and/or pain is from...I had to bring up the time I suffered from an allergic reaction... It sure was a learning experience for me... I even had to quit using a full cup of bleach cause it was making me itch too... But I can use a half a cup of bleach in the laundry,,, I am so sorry for your husband,,,, itching real bad is as bad as RA as far as I am concerned... And RA put me down pretty bad at first.. The swelling and pain could also be that you havent found what is making him itch... Maybe if you go to the doctors again he can run some more test... God bless and please let us know what it is when you find out OH welcome to the group,,, I hope I made a difference for ya.. gentle hugs Clora @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ > > Hi to all. > I have RA - mostly mild symptoms and just one flare a year ago.
