Guest guest
, I too live near Nashville and we are blessed to have several good rheumatologists in our area. I hear people complaining about long waits to get an appointment and feel so blessed and if I need I can get in usually that day or the next (I've only needed an immediate appointment once and it was great to get in immediately). Glad you found someone that serves you well. I had one bad experience with the first rheumatologist I went to after being diagnosed and never went back and called my GP who had refered him and told him of my experience. I think he was trying to help the guy get started as he had just moved to the area and was starting a new practice. My GP welcomed my input and apologized and I doubt if he recommended him again. I later talked with a friend who went to to the same rheumie and he too only went once or twice and found someone else who he really likes. Its great to have options and be able to find someone who we respect and connect with. I also have Hashimotos hypothyroid and have a devil of time finding a decent endocrinologist. However, I am happy to say I found a wonderful rheumatologist on the first try! If anyone is looking for a rheumy in the TN/Kentucky area, I highly recommend Dr. Cueves. She gave me a follow up call to see how I was reacting the the medicine on Saturday (!!!) and again this morning. I have never, ever had any doctor call me even once at home, so the fact that she called me twice is shocking. I had brought lots of things I had printed on the internet with me and she cheerfully went through all of it with me during our appointment. She did not treat me like an idiot and was very interested to hear I'm doing my PhD in natural medicine. She spent more than 45 minutes with and even refered me to her own doctor regarding the Hashi's stuff. Wow. I had just about given up on docs. I thought I'd share with folks here who might be in the market. in TN.
