Guest guest
: I was treated by a homeopath for about 5 months. According to what I understand, there are two ways to approach homeopathic treatment: treat the disease, or give a constitutional treatment that works on an energetic level. This homeopath worked with the constitutional remedies. I didn't see any changes, even in the bleeding problems. In November, I started seeing an M.D. who used Chinese herbs and vitamins and minerals. I started seeing an improvement in the bleeding during the first month. But, I didn't like the way he treated me personally, and he never talked about shrinking the fibroid. So, I started to get scared. I switched to a doctor of oriental medicine who uses Korean herbs. I've been doing this for a little over two weeks. He says that he doesn't treat the disease. He treats the reason for the disease: imbalalance of hot, cold, weak, strong, yin, yang. I don't think I notice a change yet. I sometimes get down on the floor several times a day just to palpate my fibroid. But it's hard to be objective about that. And he did say this would take a long time. I'd like to hear what you find out in your research. Cheryl
Guest guest
, I tried both homeopathy (at least 6 mos) and an extensive herbal program. I saw a westertn herbalist for about 8 mos. and a Chinese herbalist for about 4. The homeopath was very well respected and I think very good -- she greatly helped a friend of mine with endometriosis -- but she did not help with my fibroids or symptoms at all. The herbal treatments, both, helped with my symptoms and energy and it seemed they kept the fibroids from growing, but did not shrink them at all. When I had my myomectomy the doctor said the fibroids were very loosely attatched and were very easy to " peel " out. My herbalist had told before the surgery this might be the case because of the regimin I had been doing. She also thought the herbs might " soften " the fibroids ....whatever that means. Carol H Homeopathy and fibroids > thank so much for your responses to my Indman questions. > > Has anyone has any experience attempting to do research on homeopathy, herbology and the success rate with fibroids? Did anyone try that route? Im about to contact a homeopath to get a consultation. I went to an herbalist who seems to think she can help me and has helped other women with fibroids - but I would like to find any women who have tried alternatives. > > lisa marie > > >

My last period was this month. Only 2 days of just spotting kelp Primrose Oil Vitiamin e, Bayberry, Wild yam, Esiak capsules or E-tea, I've also changed my diet. no beef pork or scavenger fish. only eat chicken from veggie fed chickens. same for eggs. also cut down on caffeine hope it helps. Guest guest
See, for me that is another issue. Much of the medication that someone would take I cannot absorb. I have a mal-absorption issue due to weight loss surgery. I HAVE to take 2 prenatal vitamins and 2 calcium's EVERY day just to make sure I am getting enough of the RDA of basic nutrients. Many medications and such never have time to absorb in my system. It is great in that I CANNOT gain back my weight ( I used to be nearly 300 pounds and am now a wonderful size 4 at 137-144 pounds --5'10 " ) BUT I have to be careful when taking medications because everything seems to exit my system well before it has time to take effect. The other thing is that many vitamins will counteract each other if you take them at the same time, so I have to take the one kind in the morning, because of the iron and the calcium at night before bed. Anything taken during the main part of the day won't last.....so I am worried if I do try to take something to shrink my system....will it absorb readily? Even liquids meds do not always do well, however, sometimes they do better. I also had liver and pancreas issues, so I have to be careful there with what I take.....so many variables.....don't get me wrong.....I am basically healthy except for my female parts right now. Otherwise I feel great...I am just at such odds.....don't know what to do. The doctors office called and scheduled my surgery for the 14th.... Guest guest
I am thirty-seven and recently diagnosed with a fibroid on the outside of my uterus the size of my uterus. My doctor wants to do a complete hysterectomy but I am going to try a homeopathic progesterone creme. My understanding is that I do not have enough progesterone and that is what is causing the fibroids. Have you heard anything about this creme or other methods. I am trying to avoid surgery and have absolutely no problems with my period yet. Tina --- Kitty wrote: > I'm being treated with herbs. Have been seeing an > herbalist/Dr of Naturopathy. Guest guest
Kitty One year after myo. and your uterus is 18 weeks size? This is incredible. Can I ask you how old you are and how many and the size of fibroids which you have removed year ago. I am considering surgery next months but if I am to have the same amount the size of fibroids I may reconsider. Nina I'm being treated with herbs. Have been seeing an herbalist/Dr of Naturopathy. Guest guest
I'm interested in this type of re-growth as well.Is this 18weeks all fibroids?Or is it that the uterus has stretched and so it is enlarged?I am 6 months post and don't have fibroids but becauseI did and they were numnerous and large, the uterus has stretched. This may shrink down again with menopause, but it is enlarged without fibroids. Can you explain the amount of fibroid re-growth and how this was determined? Guest guest
Sorry I wasnt clear. The uterus stretched due to fibroids. It was determined by ultrasound. In addition, the fibroids are throughout my uterus, inside, outside, inside cavity. these things are just everywhere. I guess they are in love with me and dont want to go away..... Guest guest
Hi Tina, There are all kinds of theories out there about why fibroids develop. Some believe it's related to progesterone, some think it's estrogen, some relate it to diet and lifestyle - but I don't know that any of those theories have been definitively proven yet. I don't have any experience with progesterone cream, but it probably can't hurt to try it. Does it get absorbed by the skin? Where do you apply it, or does it not matter? Also - I don't know all the details of your fibroids, but I wanted to say that you might want to get a second opinion before you agree to have a hysterectomy. It's a pretty drastic treatment for benign fibroids, and most of the time it is not considered medically necessary unless there is cancer. At the very least, you could ask your doc whether he/she can just remove the fibroid instead of your entire uterus - especially if you don't have any symptoms. Keep us posted, ==Cat --- Tina Swartz wrote: > I am thirty-seven and recently diagnosed with a > fibroid on the outside of my uterus the size of my > uterus.
