Guest guest
Hi Tina, There are all kinds of theories out there about why fibroids develop. Some believe it's related to progesterone, some think it's estrogen, some relate it to diet and lifestyle - but I don't know that any of those theories have been definitively proven yet. I don't have any experience with progesterone cream, but it probably can't hurt to try it. Does it get absorbed by the skin? Where do you apply it, or does it not matter? Also - I don't know all the details of your fibroids, but I wanted to say that you might want to get a second opinion before you agree to have a hysterectomy. It's a pretty drastic treatment for benign fibroids, and most of the time it is not considered medically necessary unless there is cancer. At the very least, you could ask your doc whether he/she can just remove the fibroid instead of your entire uterus - especially if you don't have any symptoms. Keep us posted, ==Cat --- Tina Swartz wrote: > I am thirty-seven and recently diagnosed with a > fibroid on the outside of my uterus the size of my > uterus. Guest guest
Yes, the cream is applicable to the skin and preferably on the abdominal or reproductive area of the surface. I am going to try the homeopathic route first before trying any surgery. I feel that it is so unnecessary to just remove organs that have a purpose of some sort. tina --- cybrcat wrote: > Hi Tina, > > There are all kinds of theories out there about why > fibroids develop. Guest guest
Kitty, I'm still not 100% clear-sorry. Are you saying that the uterus has stretched AND that there has been re-growth throughout the uterus? Its just that 1 year seems awfully short to have such a big re-growth. Guest guest
Bonnie, Yes, the uterus has stretched and I do have regrowth of 6 fibroids. However, the myo was in 1997, and regrowth occurred again in 1998. But, the most recent ultra sound was in June 2001 and I was given the size and count then. My major problems started occurring again in 2001. I guess between 1998-2000 the fibroids were not a size that caused problems for me.. Kitty --- " Pedro B.
