Guest guest
MD's do not believe in Natural Medicine...they don't even study it. That is why they would never mention it to you. You'd have to seek advise from a Naturopathic Pysician. I have a regimine tailored to the organ/endocrine systems that were affected by my RA. Everyone is different. So the things I take, wouldn't necessarily work for everyone. Here is the list, just in case your interested: Daily children's chewable - I can't take the adult one, because I am allergic to copper Flaxseed and Primrose oil combo CoEnzyme Q-10 200 mg - helps with energy and heart health Daily b-6 injection - took away my nerve pain completely Weekly b-12 injections - helps a lot with energy DHEA(hormone precursor) 10 mg - balanced my hormones Choline 1250 mg and Inositol 1250mg day - helps brain funtion - my mental fatigue Biotin 5000 mcg/day - helping to grow back the hair I lost taking prednisone Calcium/Magnisum/ Vit D liquid - all women should take it, I take it at night, and it helps me sleep also Arabinoglactin 1.3g - Immune enhancer - helped with everything, I can tell if I miss a dose I feel yucky the next day, wether it be allergies or RA pain and swelling. This stuff is made from the bark of a tree?!?! It does amazing things, I can't even tell you. histamininium hydrochloricum - homeopathic for allergies (help with the reaction) Traumeel - homeopathic anti-inflammatory (since I can't take NSAID's) Arnicare Gel - topical pain relief gel (homeopathic) no drugs in it. Ginger Trips - helps with nasea related to my Enbrel Airborne for Allergies - works great to prevent them, balances histimine levels My Synthetic drug list is much shorter :)See: Enbrel - once a week for Ra Lopressor - for blood pressure, I've been so great lately I might be able to go off of it or lower the dose Xanax XR - for anxiety, don't have any anymore, so I am going to be stepping down off of it Depo- Provera - birth control Tramadol - for pain as needed.....significanlty reduced this since I started the Enbrel > > > > I have read a few post lately discrediting Natural Medicine. Guest guest
Hi I suspect my light-hearted post re. my Mum thinking cider vinegar and aloe vera juice would cure me was one of the posts that irked you. I think you misintepreted it as an attack on natural supplements, which it certainly wasn't: It's wonderful that your supplements are helping you so effectively! I've tried fish oil and other things myself, in combination with my meds. What I was trying to convey was my frustration that after 15 years, people still don't 'get' our disease - that there is no cure as such and we don't take mtx and biologics for fun but because we have to. I had a hip replacement at 40 (18 months ago) and am having my big toe fused soon (and extra bone spurs removed) due to my arthritis. But it's thanks to the mtx and sulphasalazine that I am currently in remission (for the 3rd time). Keep taking all the supplements that are helping so much in NZ > > I have read a few post lately discrediting Natural Medicine. It is > not the " Cure All " for us RA patients- but nothing is! Is it? I am not going hog wild on suppliments or natural remidies. I am just going to try a few of them. No worries, I will talk to my rheumy about it first. I have a list of 101 ways cider vingegar can be used. e.g. cleaning, cloth soaked in it for body aches. and so on. I got to find the list first lol Some of the remedies I never heard of so I am going to be very careful. The natural ones I know about I am trying. Your having your big bone on your toe fused. OUCH. Guest guest
No, Enbrel is a very expensive biologic medication. That's what I'm on, and it works very well for me. Guest guest
Enbrel certainly is not a natural or homeopathic medicine. I take it in addition to everything else. Natrual medicine, just means things like vitamins, herbal supplements, minerals, essential fatty acids, enzymes, gladular aids etc. I take an immune enhancer made from the bark of a certain tree....and let me tell you, I can tell if I miss a dose. I hurt the next day. It really just means things made from nature that have been found to help certain body functions as well as things that our body produces naturally but for some reason we are not producing them. With us RA patients on so many synthetics, sometimes are bodies are lacking in certain areas, so we need to replace what the medicine has taken away...i.e. calcium, or folic acid etc. Oh and I don't even know what cider vinager does. BUT Aloe juice helps soothe your tummy, I know that. People don't understand RA, natural medicine alone can't fix it, nothing can. But try to understand that people who suggest it, are just trying to help you. It had probably done wonders for them, so why not pass the info on to you? I has done alot for me, I find the less " drugs " I put in my body the better I feel. If I can find something natrual to take instead of something synthetic, I will. I have never had any side effects from natural medicine. Sometimgs I think drugs are a vicious cycle, you take something to help you with a certina ailment, and then you have to take something else for the side effects. That is why I try not to take so many drugs, and more natural medicine. The result is a much healthier me! I went from a person who bearly got out of bed. To someone going to school everyday for 6 hours a day, and now I am looking for a job, whereas before I thought I'd never work again. Don't get me wrong, I still couldn't workout, I still had pain...but I didn't have all the other junk that goes along with having RA. Enbrel has helped alot now, I can workout! I am a more complete person, and feel healthier than ever. > > Nargarajan and group > > What is a Naturopath medicine??? > > gentle sweet hugs > Clora > > > > > > Is embrel a naturopath medicine?
