Guest guest
You're correct.....80 to 120 fasting....but now there is also a new term....Pre-diabetes.....if your fasting blood sugar is above 100 you're pre-diabetic. or if you have fat around the middle you're pre-diabetic. 2 hours after meals blood sugar should be 140 to 160 is perfect and 160 to 180 okay and ALL people who have hepatitis C have insulin resistance and some degree of fatty liver...... read this... http://www.hcvadvocate.org/hepatitis/About_Hepatitis_pdf/1.1.1_Living_With_Hep atitisC/SIDE_EFFECTS.pdf
Guest guest
Jackie, I can answer this one, being diabetic myself (not HepC related though). Normal blood glucose range for non- diabetics is between 80 and 120, however the powers that be are always heightening the bar and some say that between 70 and 110 is optimum. Or has that changed again Sylvia? Love anne Re: STD WELL>>>>>>>>>>> THAT STINKS! How can we get it removed? Guest guest
My treatment nurse just told me last week that the new standard is to not be over 90. I was a little high when they did my baseline bloodwork for starting treatment. But, I don't know anything for a fact...just what my nurse told me. anne <kanga2@...> wrote: Jackie, I can answer this one, being diabetic myself (not HepC related though). Guest guest
Thank You I know what normal blood SUGARS are,, but what Im trying to find out is what normal INSULIN levels are,, I had mine drawn several years ago, it was 19 and that was the upper end of normal I think, thats why I want to know.. not the sugar but the insulin,,, they had to send the test away to get it run so I dont think just every lab can do them.. BUT THANK YOU for trying to help! hugs, jax Hoshor <dhoshorjoey@...> wrote: My treatment nurse just told me last week that the new standard is to not be over 90. Guest guest
OK. Well, from what I've read that is determined by a c-peptide test. This is what I found. Hope it's what you're looking for! http://www.bcbswny.com/kbase/topic/medtest/tu2817/results.htm Jackie on <redjaxjm@...> wrote: Thank You I know what normal blood SUGARS are,, but what Im trying to find out is what normal INSULIN levels are,, I had mine drawn several years ago, it was 19 and that was the upper end of normal I think, thats why I want to know.. not the sugar but the insulin,,, they had to send the test away to get it run so I dont think just every lab can do them.. Maddalena, I saw that you got your answer, but I was curious about something. What screen reader are you using? In Window-Eyes, there's a file you can use to configure the way that certain words and acronyms are spoken. I believe there's something like that in Jaws too, but I didn't use Jaws too much. Just a thought. in IN
