Guest guest
Wow, - this is the study that I've been taking part in. I think I am getting the placebo, though, because after 3 IV Infusions, I am not any better and getting worse all the time........Doreen > > Arthritis Rheum. 2008 Sep 29;58(10):2968-2980. > > > Interleukin-6 receptor inhibition with tocilizumab reduces disease > activity in rheumatoid arthritis with inadequate response to > disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs: The tocilizumab in > combination with traditional disease-modifying antirheumatic drug > therapy study. > > CONCLUSION: Tocilizumab combined with any of the DMARDs evaluated > was safe and effective in reducing articular and systemic symptoms > in patients with an inadequate response to these agents. > > PMID: 18821691 > > http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18821691 > > > > Not an MD >

Guest guest
Doreen and group; How much longer is this study Doreen??? I pray for you to feel better.. Will this prayer interfere with the study??? I think that they should end this study for you so you can get treated... j I know your being strong for this study but you deserve some relief from so much pain.. It is only my opinion.. I love everyone here and pray that you all have pain free days.. gentle hugs Clora > Wow, - this is the study that I've been taking part in. Guest guest
Thank you and Clora. I have made the decision to stop participating in the clinical study. To have continued for one more month could have meant another placebo infusion and then waiting another month before the escape arm could be activated. Then again, if I was getting the real drug, it could have meant another month of ineffective treatment with no escape arm. I need to place a call to my rheumy this morning. They were not very efficient with callbacks this past week and if this keeps up, I will be finding a new one.....Doreen
Guest guest
Sorry, Doreen. I hope your rheumatologist (should you keep him) have some good ideas about what to do next.
