Guest guest Posted October 10, 2008 Report Share Posted October 10, 2008 hello michelle & WELCOME to this group. i'm 38yrs.old & have had ra since i was 5yrs.old. to me i think through bloodwork & x-rays. i have to admit prednisone works for me but then HURTS me at the same. my bones r DETERIORATING due to this particular med. however, everyone is different & some people have more severe ra than others. i'm glad ur researching cuz there's new meds coming out all the time or even new treatments. the rheummy just needs to do what's best for u. god bless,melyndagamez 10/10/08 3:45p.m.cdt [ ] Re: New here...some questions Hi : So sorry you are suffering with RA. Much too young to have to deal with it. I have had it for 5 years, and I am 68. I had never heard of it before, and it is one awful disease. I take the maximum dose of Sulfasalazine, Placquenil, MTX. inject. and 10 mg. each day of Prednisone. My Rheumy has me in better shape now with these meds. My flares are shorter, and longer in between. Thank God. I hope your Rheumy visit goes well for you, and you start to treat your RA aggresively. I pray you will be pain free soon.
