Guest guest
You're welcome, Leonie. I think the gastric erosions were just a step down from a full blown ulcer. Nexium is a good prescription stomach med. Zantac is OTC here and has been around for a long time. I don't want to scare you or anything, but perhaps you should consider having a scope done. We found out that there is something called the H-pylori Bacteria that is found in the stomach and it causes ulcers. The only way to know for sure is to have a biopsy done of the area where the erosion/ulcer is. It is something that can be cured with heavy duty antibiotics and antacids. My husband had it and is fine now. Best of luck to you..........Doreen > > Hi Doreen, > > thanks for the input ...it sounds an awful lot easier to take the > tablets. is a gastric erosion like an ulcer - sounds like it ? i > haven't been scoped for an ulcer, but the doc assumes something's > going on in there and put me on nexium (ppi inhibitor). it's not > good anyway... as you know. Guest guest
Hi - thanks for letting me know. I didn't know that. I assume either this is a new way to test for h-pylori or my gastro doc needed to see my stomach anyway. Which ever the reason, I am glad to have this new info.........Doreen you can test for h pylori with a simple blood test. wheni started having trouble with my stomach after years on anti-inflamms they ran the h pylori test to be sure. it was negative. i only have problems with my stomach if i take anti-inflamms. monique
