Guest guest
I've never had that happen before. I inject into my stomach (I have into my thighs, but I kept getting bruises). The only thing that happens is a burning sensation for about 10 seconds, tenderness at the injection site and sometimes bruising. Guest guest
Kami, You may have gotten the injector close to a capillary or small vein. I had a similar experience using the needle and noticed I had a " fairly " large bruise the next day so I can only assume it got into the blood stream somehow. No ill effects afterward, just weird at the time. Cheryl

Guest guest
I also self inject. I use the pen - it is really great. I used to get a big black and blue - but not anymore. I have not had any really bad side effects aside from some itching at the injection site. I find if I put a band-aide over it right away it does not itch. I inject in my upper leg. Guest guest
Molly and the Group Oh wow Molly, I am glad you told us about the pen and the itching. I am going to make sure I have bandaids. Everything makes me itch. Was the bruising from learning and getting it better. I start the injection in a month from now. I am going to use the pen, this way my husband will help. He won't help with the syriange. (needle). I start the humira injections for every 2 weeks. Gentle hugs for everyone pain free days also.
