Guest guest
Elaine, I know there a lot of church camps out by Comfort, right off IH-10. That's close to the Fredricksburg area. Guest guest
There is bound to be something down around Fredricksburg, or in that area. Do a search on the computer. Helon Re: Retreat Hi Elaine, There are two places that I know about.....one is in Midlothian, TX. We had a TOPS retreat there many years ago. I taught the crafts that year......had about 91 people at the retreat. It is called Camp Hoblitzelle (think this is spelled correctly). It's a nice place.....swimming pool....and other things to do., plus has a motel also. The other place is Mt. Lebanon Baptist Encampment which just happens to be just down the road from my house. It sets on about 500 acres or better. They also have a swimming pool, lots of walking places, and also have motel facilities as well as lodges. If you want the phone numbers for Mt. Lebanon, let me know and I'll get it for you. I worked there for about 8 years. I've mentioned this place several times to Shirley, and also sent it to another lady (can't think of her name), who handles retreats etc. BarbaraEMAIL TEXAS-STYLE!! EMAIL TEXAS-STYLE!! Guest guest
A retreat in the Hill Country would be awesome! The retreats in Denton and Louisiana didn't even appeal to me... the stress that I would've incurred driving back home through the Dallas/Ft. Worth or Houston traffic would've probably negated the 'retreat high' for me! LOL! I'm also "game" for an overnight TexasTOPS email list slumber party... maybe we can do a "trial run" for a possible retreat location. Just say the word... I can be packed in 15 minutes or less! [This does not pertain to camping, an activity that I find totally unappealing. LOL!] I know that the CyberTOPS people have a big ol' yearly picnic, where everyone camps out at one of the member's land. (((hugs))) Janet Retreat I am really excited that there were allot of posts thinking a hill country Texas TOPS Retreat was a good idea. So if anyone knows of any church camps or retreats that let organizations rent their facilities for a week, let me know. The Criteria for a TOPS Retreat is: 1. There needs to be single beds, no upper bunks for at least 50. 2. The facility needs to have a safe walking area for exercise. 3. A meeting room for at least 50. 4. Kitchen staff willing to work with low cal/low fat menu. Thanks, Elaine EMAIL TEXAS-STYLE!!

Guest guest
Elaine, Can't we just plan to get together informally or do we HAVE to do a TOPS retreat? Guest guest
We can meet in small groups as friends any time we want too...but if we meet in a big meeting setting, and call it a Texastops email loop meeting, it needs to be known by all the coordinators and make sure that it is ok with them and TOPS.
