Guest guest
Gloria, I have had surgery on both hands for Carpal Tunnel. The surgeon had to go back in 2 years later and remove scar tissue adhesions on one hand from one of the first surgeries. I still have pain, which is from the PA, but the surgery did help quite a bit. But to answer your question about exercise for Carpal Tunnel. I went through extensive Physical Therapy on both hands before I finally gave in and had the surgery. I had whirlpool therapy, Paraffin Wax (which felt great), Ultra-Sound treatments and Massage Therapy before the surgery and nothing relieved the pain. The therapists had me lift 1 lb. weights at home and they gave me therapy putty to squeeze while I sat and read, watched t.v., etc. NOTHING helped me. This went on for about 8 months. I finally had to do the surgery thing. Have you talked about different exercises and therapy with your Dr.? Maybe he might have some suggestions for you. Guest guest
So happy to hear your news. Thanks for letting us know how you are doing and happy to hear you found a pain med which works. Sending you lots of energy for the PT. I go in two weeks from today. Interesting to read what others are saying today about the type of anesthesia to have. I am mulling it, too. I guess I will learn more when I go for my pre-op tomorrow morning. I was unsuccessful in donating my own blood. After three tries I cannot get my iron level high enough. They encouraged me to eat red meat and seafood before the surgery. I don't do either often enough. Take care. They couldn't seem to find one that didn't make me sick so I was pretty sick all the time and let me tell you that PT is no fun when you feel like that. But now I am on Darvocet which is pretty mild from what I understand but it seems to be taking care of things. I am pretty stiff and I didn't expect so much stiffness. When I go to bend I feel like if they pricked me with a pin I would explode. But all in all I am doing good. Only used a walker one day and am on crutches now although the PT says she's going to have me use just one crutch tomorrow and a cane next week. Just glad to have this over with and the best part-no bone on bone pain!!in NH __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I have checked out the websites, thanx for sending that one. I got my boot today, its kind of awkward, but it does help the pain in my heel when I walk. Were all going to the amusement park the 19th, so I hope it works. If not, I will have to rent a scooter. I didn't keep my appointment at the foot doc, so need to make another one. Thanx for your caring thoughts, Tawny --- In , Petheram <chris65peth@...> wrote: > > Good morning Tawny and group, > Just came across this site which might help with suggestions for your Oh so painful heel. > I am no good at links but you should find it if you type in heelspurs.com/index.html. > Best wishes > Chris > UK >
