Guest guest
Hi Traci, My name is Lynn I was diagnosed with RA almost a year ago. I have RA in my right wrist, and I suspect in my right shoulder as well. I have nodules on my left and right elbows and then I have a bone nodule on my thumb knuckle. I do have clicking in my neck , and bones cracking in my shoulder , ankles, & popping in my jaw....but they have ruled it out as RA ( so they say ) and tell me its TMJ. > > Hello Everyone, I am new to this group and also new to RA. I was diagnosed in March 2007. I currently have RA in my left foot with eroisions, my left knee (cartlidge thinning), my right shoulder, right wrist with eroisions and my fingers. I was just wondering if anyone with RA experiences popping and cracking of the bones/joints? Please share any info with me. Thanks, Traci >
Guest guest
Yes, I experience the popping in my ankles and wrists.I also have the cracking noise in my knees.I thought it might be from not using my joints as much, but now that I know someone else with RA deals with this,it makes me wonder if this is a sign of erosion. Guest guest
Traci, Welcome to our gourp and I am so glad you have found us. You will find that so many, many people are compassionate and understanding here. Also is great to educate us with postings. I am so sorry that you have this disease. It is a continual learning experience for myself. I do have several joints that pop and crack. One is a finger on my right hand. I can't use it until I bend it and then something pops and it goes back into place. This is first thing in the am and off and on all day. My ankles and toes are similar but not as frequent. I did have like a grinding in my neck but that has improved since my surgery there. I don't know if this is the same as what you are experiencing, but I did want to reply and tell you a little about our group. Shirley > > Hello Everyone, I am new to this group and also new to RA. Guest guest
Hi Doreen, Thanks, it does help. Yeah most of the time it doesn't hurt when they pop & crack. Do you think it is due to erosions? Guest guest
Group, on joints cracking; My knuckle cracked the other day when I got off the doctors exam bed. Omg, that surpised me a little and it was loud. I said casually " My bones is cracking apart. " THe rheumy made no comment so I figured it's another mystery with my body. At least with this group I know what to expect and how much it will hurt. I love my support group. I dont know what I would do with you you guys. Thanks so much. gentle hugs Clora > Hi , > I know what you mean when you say Snap, Crackle, Pop, lol!!! > Traci > > > > I do, I do. Guest guest
You're welcome, Traci. I don't know exactly what the popping and cracking is caused from and as I read the other posts, it sounds like the doctors aren't too concerned with it either. If it is truly bothersome to you, ask your Rheumy about it. Let us know if your doctor gives you a better answer than we all seem to have gotten so far from ours....Doreen > > Hi Doreen, Thanks, it does help.
