Guest guest
, I am also new to all of this, in fact, I haven't been diagnosed with RA yet, but I have tested positive for Rheumatoid Factor by my PCP so far. I'm still waiting for my first appointment with a rheumatologist. I was checking to see what kind of replies you got to this post, because this is what I'm experiencing. Sometimes the pain in my left wrist is so sharp it makes my hair stand up on end and I have to stop what I'm doing because it locks up in pain. (I am right-handed.) Also, my left foot and ankle actually feel broken when I walk on them and they throb even when there is no pressure on them at all. I had X-rays done on my left foot and ankle by my PCP because I thought I had broke them somehow. I told him that many of my joints were starting to ache a lot and that is when he had me tested for the Rheumatoid Factor. When the x-rays came back, the only thing he was able to find out of the ordinary was two small bones just below my smallest toe that were fused together. He said I was born like this. This area (and my ankle) are exactly where most of the excruciating pains are coming from (although I'm getting other new aches all through both feet, tops and bottoms but not nearly as excruciating). I am also starting to ache a little in my hips, and neck, but its not too bad (yet). I read somewhere that RA usually hits both sides of the body equally. For some reason it seems a lot worse on my left side. At first I thought this might be due to how I sleep, but I usually sleep on my right side since I use a CPAP machine and try not to allow the blowing air on my husband while he sleeps during the night. I'm also experiencing pains in my skin, two different types: Sometimes it feels like my skin has been burned badly and other times it feels like flies are biting me. Although I get these sensations on my arms and legs and feet, I get them more frequently on my lower legs and feet. Does anyone else experience this? Does this sound like a symptom of RA? One last thing. The past year I've been reading a lot about the many benefits of RAW or LIVING FOOD. Does anyone here have any knowledge / experience with this subject in conjunction with the RA, the inflammation and the resulting joint damage. Thanks for your time, F [ ] Stabbing pain? Hi all, I am getting used to the aches in my joints, but in the last couple of days I've been having stabbing pains in my wrists and ankles and just wondering if this is common. I am still fairly new to the world of RA and have yet to figure out everything to expect. Thanks in advance. Wishing everyone a pain free day! Guest guest
, I also have these sensations, however,I don't know if it is the same thing you are going through.I will feel like an ant or mosquito just bit me.It comes out of nowhere and I just grab the spot and try to rub it out.It is located in my feet and lower leg areas.I also feel like my knees are on fire, like I have rubbed Icy Hot or something like that on them.I don't know if this is what you were trying to convey to the group.I have RA and Fibromyalgia, and I'm not sure if this is part of either or both. Guest guest
hi linda i went to a facility where they make raw vegan food and stayed there 3 weeks. i didn't need any meds by the end of it. however i lost way to much weight - went down to 90 lobs at 5'5 " and the diet i found to be not sustainable over the long term due to this. i also found i needed some animal products. i do however find the paleo diet very helpful. see: http://www.thepaleodiet.com/index.shtml http://www.thepaleodiet.com/articles/Arthritis%20PDF.pdf also if you can follow this diet plan it is even more helpful but very strict so hard to follow. robert mcferran had severe RA and no meds worked for him. he manages it with this plan: http://www.frot.co.nz/dietnet/reviews/mcferran01.htm monique

Guest guest
I have the burning pain when my skin is touched. My Rhu said its all a part of Fibro. I also have severe pain in my Left wrist. I wear a brace on it but it is unbearable at times. The Rhu told me it was Tendonitis at first but after that the pain I experience is right in the wrist joint. He said it is nmost likely the RA. He gave me an injection in the area but it diodn't help at all. I can now draw a line on the inside of my arm and the pain is present up to right under my deltoid muscle and there is a spot there that if touched I want to scream. I see the Rhi next week and hope there is something he can do. I am left handed.
