Guest guest
I lucked out when I saw my " disability doctor " at the appt SS set up for me. He was extremely compassionate so don't assume that they are all nasty or anything. I was really surprised at how compassionate he was. I think some people just assume they are going to be given a hard time and that is not always the case. Be sure and let him know every gripe and complaint you have. Don't try to put on a brave front like we all often do and don't down play your symptoms. Be truthful. They can see your lab results and they can see how swollen you are by examining you. Let them know when it hurts when they move certain joints. Good luck! Tracie (the one from Maine, lol)
Guest guest
All depends on the doctor. When I went for my exam, my neurologist had told me to make sure they check my reflexes..I have none in my right leg due to neuropathy. Well, the woman doctor seemed bent out of shape when I mentioned it when it appeared her exam was over. She reluctantly tapped the side of each ankle. She really needed to tap the back of each ankle and also my knees. At that point, I figured I was better off not telling her what she SHOULD be doing and I let it go. Fortunately, I won the case...as I said, I was very surprised! _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Tracie Bragdon Sent: Thursday, August 07, 2008 5:19 PM Subject: [ ] Re:Drs Appts-Any Advice?
