Well, what happened next was a horrid bout with uveitis starting

July 4th. I assumed it was just conjunctivitis, although I never had

that before ... but after a week and it getting so bad, so painful,

hideous to look at, I went to my GP. He said it was only

conjunctivitis and gave me antiobiotic drops. It just got worse, so

I took myself to an opthomologist. She diagnosed the uveitis and

said in her experience it was related to underlying auto-immune

disease. When I said I had a positive RH factor, she nodded and said

this is related. Prednisone drops made it better, but now that I'm

weaning off them, the doctor said the uveitis is " trying to come

back, " so I had to up the frequency of the drops again. The eye

drops aren't supposed to have the same side effects as oral

Prednisone, but when I was taking the maximum dose at the beginning,

I was obnoxious beyond tolerance, besides miserable. I can see I

could never take the tablets.

Ooookay, I'll wait to see what comes next ...

Lynne, I am sorry about your eyes. I just had to write at your comment

about being " obnoxious beyond tolerance " . That made me laugh out loud.

I know that feeling all to well! Hope you are better soon.

Thanks, , sympathy helps. Every male in my life, including my

husband and both of the male doctors I've seen, are in total denial.

They notice none of the things wrong with me that I am positive are

very glaringly obvious -- HELLO? I can't walk without holding onto

the walls, you don't notice anything? I'm glad the opthomologist was

a woman, at least ... I am hurting so bad the last few weeks and

afraid the eye thing is a new permanent condition. I am conflicted

about going back to either of the male doctors (GP and rheum.)

because I'm afraid they might believe me this time and prescribe

more Prednisone, LOL. Lynne
