Rhonda,

Now THAT was a great post there! Yes we can all relate to hitting that

bottom and saying " Can this work for ME? "

I remember looking at everyone's weight, before and after. So happy to see

everyone losing, so excited to see women close to my weight doing well....and

thinking " Can that be me? Probably not that good, but maybe close " ...now I

have exceeded every goal I wanted for me, and am blessed beyond belief. Of

course I want to do more and not quit, but I have so many great things

happening in my life that I still can't believe IT'S ME IT'S ME!! LOL

The greatest thing that has happened to me is being able to share this. I

see new people, fresh from surgery and without support and can say, " hey, I

know some great people ((this list)) and they share wonderful information

with me and I can share this with you " and when they see how to eat, how to

use the pouch, they are shocked that no one told them any of it! I know that

this group has showed me not only the way to get my packet done, but how to

use all that information in my daily life and to pass it on. I hope I never

lose sight of all I've been given, or the reality that it is my turn to give

it to someone else.

Love and light to you!

Good morning back at 'cha!!!! Yes, I remember Robby Benson. I also

thought he was very good looking. I remember watching him in movies

and drooling over him. Takes me back a few years.

Thanks for the post. Your post are always very inspirational. I

really enjoy them. I know I am very grateful for the opportunities

that God has given me. I am also very grateful that I now see them

as opportunities. When I start feeling sorry for myself and life

isn't going the way I think it should or I get down because I still

have " x " amount of weight to lose, I remember where I was a year

ago. A year ago I was just barely a part of the human race. I

didn't really care about much of anything. My only thought was about

my weight and what was I going to eat next. I hated myself and my

life. I had decided I was going to have to learn how to live with

being fat for the rest of my life, but I could not for the life of me

figure out how I was going to do that. I know you all understand the

vicious circle I am talking about. I had been entertaining the

thoughts of wls but had not shared my thoughts about it with any one

else. I was sure that having weight loss surgery would mean that I

really had hit the bottom. I had hit bottom, it just took me a while

to admit that I had hit bottom and that wls was the solution and it

did not mean that I was an awful, weak person. Then one day I was in

the internet and saw the name of a friend I knew on one of the

websites for weight loss surgery. I had been researching wls for a

few months but had still not told my husband or anyone else. I

emailed this friend and she is the one that told me about Dr. R. I

started to do the research on his website. That is when I finally

allowed myself to have a little hope that maybe I did not have to

learn to live with being fat........and the rest is history as they

say.

Anyway, just wanted to thank you for the post. It always does me

good to hear about the things I need to remember to be grateful for.

Bonded by our experience, strength and hope

God Bless you too, Tony!

[ ] Good

morning!

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful easter. Mine was great. We not only had a

wonderful service at church but the lunch afterwarth was excellent.

By the time that I got around to the meats that I had prepared it was gone; so

I turned vegetarian for a day! but it was all good. Well my crucial week has

arrived. I'm on my way to see my internist for my blood counts and thursday I

have an appointment with my liver specialist in we

are going to look at the progress of my treatment and see if it has helped me

or if is going to be helping me. I've been in constant prayer about this

situation so I'm not anxious at all. I surrendered my medical care to God long

ago; all I personally do is take my meds, keep a good diet and go to my appts.

I'll keep you posted as things developed. It sure looks like is going to be a

beautiful day here in Atlanta. Well you all take good care of yourself. God

Bless You !

Hello Everyone!

I hope this e-mail finds you well. As I write this to you I place complete trust on the

fact that I know God loves me and is watching out for me. I just received a call from

my liver specialist with the results of the study. All the medications that he has tried

to help on my situation has failed to work. In order to avoid any unnecesary sufering

from side-effects; I have been taking off treatment. He ask me to make an appointment for six months to see if any new treatments are available. Not what I

wanted to hear but I rather know the truth. I don't know how right this moments but

I will make it out of this. I will never surrender ! Take good care of yourself and if you

can please say a little prayer for me! God Bless!

Tony,

I'm so sorry. I wish there was something I could do besides pray. I

know that's important but I want more. Know that you will be in my

prayers and I'm sending a hug. Let me know if there's anything else

I can do.

Do you think you should get a second oppinion? I don't know your

whole story.

Hi Janie! I'm having an interesting day. Pretty good, though. Thanks

for the new site to check out. Have you seen any info about dizziness

anywhere? It's just that I woke up this morning and my equilibrium

was really out of wack for a couple of hours. I went to WalMart and

checked my blood pressure, and it was fine. I don't think any

supplements I'm taking could cause this. I'm pretty careful about

what I put into my body and everything has been okayed by my

naturopath, who also has medical training at a medical school. I'm

thinking it might be my allergies, although they are sooooo much

better this year with all the good things I've been taking. I'm

actually breathing through both nostrils much of the time! Love and

blessings. Karolyn

Janie,

No problem with the name thing. Really, I was just laughing about

it because and I both post on couple of other sites and

people are always confusing us. It's become a joke between us.

As for NAC vs. SAMe, I think this is strictly an individual

thing. What is best for one person is different for someone else.

Also, there is no reason you can't take both if you want to. There is

probably more scientific evidence about NAC, but that doesn't always

mean anything - except it may have been studied longer or something.

I take melatonin frequently for insomnia - you're right, I do

approve. It doesn't work for everyone, but it works for me!

Oh Tony! What a blessing to read this! You just made my day!!!!!

Debby

[ ] Good Morning!

Hello Everyone:I'm so sorry for not responding earlier to the e-mails asking for me. I continue my new regime a meds trusting that it will show improvement. The side effects are so severe that I sleep mostly all day. I truly miss been an active part of this group site as I used to be but sometimes we have to readjust our daily activities for the sake of our recovery but perhaps one day soon I may can do better. I'm really looking forward to a quiet holiday season at home. My dad has gone into the mountains twice since last month and really wanted me to go but I don't feel strong enough to go on outings too far from the house so I stay at home watching movie and movie which I do enjoy a lot. Lifetime off course is one of my favorite channels but I most agree with my pastor when he tolds us that we must use wisdom in selecting the programs that we watch on television since this can have a reaction into our feelings / state of mind and any of you that watch lifetime movies know that at times they are notorious in showing depressing stories but if you can keep a secret " I still watch them" I just grab me a roll of paper towels :-) yesterday I watch a movie names the 60'sand since all this events happened before my time I had no idea of most of the events that took place during that time. I found it very educational since after all it is part of our history. Sorry if I deviated from liver related issues but it has been so long since I wrote !!! I have an appointment to see my internist tomorrow; I will let you know the latest once I get back home. Well I think I go and get me some hot chocolate to start my morning before the parade of meds begins.Blessings,Tony Nunez

Hi I just got a phone call yest. that my HEP C Dr passed away last week. Can we

all say a prayer for him and his loved ones. I won't be going on Monday so I'll

keep you posted when I get a new Appt. Happy Friday Everyone and have a

wonderful weekend

it yet but my fiancee has had it for many years. Since we've met again (about 2

1/2 years), he's generally had low energy. Past month he sleeps constantly.

Deep, sound sleep. He has many other things against him and have been trying to

get him ready for the " treatment " . He has chronic major manic depression

-usually on the very low side. He is Insulin dependent diabetic with wide

ranges of blood sugar. The Psychiatrist put him on a dramatic increase of

antidepression medication to prep him for the treatment. It seems to have him

on the down side. They keep increasing doses and addding more drugs but by

puttingh off the treatment it seems to have discouraged him. However, I don't

disagree with the decision to wait, I'm just frustrated with the current

situation. Should he be re-evaluated for this sleeping. I'm very concerned.

He cannot stay awake. He's in a deep slack-jawed snoring coma like state within

seconds!!!! I don't know what to do. Any advice? jayke
