Guest guest
Hi , When I was on Methotrexate (sp) I had to have the lab count mine by hand because when they spun my blood for the computer to count the plateltes...they would clump together and I would only have half of the amount that was really there. I don't remember what the number should have been. It's been a couple of years now. You might check into the way the lab is counting your platelets Donna (Michigan-USA) Davies <c.s.davies@...> wrote:
Guest guest
Gillian, thanks, I never knew the ranges that the results ought to be within, so it's good to have an idea. I know it's important though, not to get too paranoid about the results as I'm sure they'd let me know if there was a problem. You can't help though, when faced with a page of your own results, wondering what 'NORMAL' is and wondering what everyone's else's results are so you can compare!!!! Thanks again
Guest guest
Well ... the nurse finally called me back and she said that one of my liver enzyme tests was elevated and another test showed that my kidney filtration was decreased. I was told to increase my fluid intake and have blood work repeated in 4 weeks. I was also told not to do any exercise or strenuous activity for 3 days prior to the blood test. The nurse is kind of hard to read and she's not really all that personable so I'm not sure if I should really be worrying or not. Does this sound like something I should be worrying about??? Have any of you had these types of results? Thanks! KD
Guest guest
KD, My liver enzyme levels increased and my rheummy cut my MTX by one pill per dosage. It was back down within a month. I am kind of concerned with my Glom Filt Rate, it has been as low as 46 and no higher than 52. It should be 60.0-128.0. It bothers me since both of my parents had kidney cancer and I have pains in my right kidney periodically (I think it is my kidney and not my back). I plan to ask about it my next visit, since no one has brought it up yet. I wouldn't stress about it at this time, but did the nurse make a medication change? Guest guest
KD, Yes it is the filtration of the kidneys. I think it is OK but I want my rheummy to tell me it is OK. Please don't miss your bloodwork. It is SO important for us. I hope you are feeling better about your numbers. It is an area of guarded concern but I don't want you to stress. Stress is bad. Aware is good. I hope you have a good evening, Shirley > > No medication change right now ... Here's what it says: > enlarged red blood cells > Total cholesterol 7.25 > Triglycerides 0.29 > HDL 3.20 > LDL 3.9 > ratio 2.3 > Iron still low at 26 even though I take liver pills daily +++Maddy, liver pills aren't going to help a lot until your body balances out all of its nutrients, since they all work together. > Eosinophils quite high at 214 >>> Do you know what this is Bee? > TSH 1.37 > > I'm wondering Bee if the high Eosinophils is giving me the night sweats? I read briefly about it online and it seemed to indicate that. Eosinophils are white blood cells that are one of the Immune System components responsible for combating infection and controlling mechanisms associated with healing reactions (mainly detoxifying reactions), inflammation, etc. Therefore, they are initiated by the immune system as required, just like histamines and other substances produced by the immune system. Your night sweats aren't only caused by Eosinophil production, since there are so many other factors involved, including thyroid and adrenal malfunctioning associated with candida. Trust you body since it " knows " what it is doing. Luv, Bee
