Guest guest
I'm confused about this, . You said that a neurologist told you that your nerves are fine, but you have peripheral neuropathy. Neuropathy is defined as damage to nerves. Peripheral just means that it is your peripheral extremities (arms, hands, feet and legs) I believe. This would not account for the burning/tingling sensations along your spine. I know it's all very confusing, particularly when we have more than one disease or illness. I also have several herniated discs. I think you need a clear clarification of the neuropathy. Did you have the nerve function test (EMG, I think it's called)? If you've had it, you'll remember since it can be painful - needles stuck in your leg or arm. I have the burning and tingling in my back along my spine when I stand for more than 10 mins but my hands and feet are just numb. It's hard to explain. I also noticed that my legs are getting numb when my husband was scratching my thigh and I could not feel it very well. I was told by a neurologist that my nerves are fine and it's peripheral (sorry, I know I'm spelling it wrong) neuropathy and talked about a med for it but then that was all I heard about. What other auto immunes does your daughter have. I have Celiac Disease and the rheumy's first thought is it is all related to that and that I am not responding completely to the diet. I'm still waiting for test results to come back to get a course of action from him. I really don't know where to go from here. I know my internist is going to send me to a surgeon because I have 2 bulging disks in my lower back and maybe that is it but the report says they are not pinching any nerves and it does not explain the hands and those were the first things to go numb. Sorry, I know I'm not being any help to you.
Guest guest
Boy, I know what you mean when you say " zingers " since I have peripheral neuropathy. What dose are you talking about with B6? I just looked at Centrum Silver and it provides 3 mg or 150% of the DV. Interestingly, I Googled B6 and found... " Sensory neuropathy has occurred from high intakes of supplemental forms " so this would go directly against what you are suggesting. BUT..it also says " The classic clinical syndrome for B6 deficiency <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyridoxine_deficiency> is a seborrheic dermatitis-like eruption, atrophic glossitis with ulceration, angular cheilitis, conjunctivitis, intertrigo, and neurologic symptoms of somnolence, confusion, and neuropathy.[5] <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vitamin_B6#cite_note-4#cite_note-4> Talk about confusing..but confusion is a sign of deficiency!!! _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of laurenrosepeters Sent: Monday, August 11, 2008 3:41 AM Subject: [ ] Re: Perphrial neuropathy I have an Unlar nerve leasion that causes it. I take b-6.It helps with nerve function. I haven't had any " zingers " - what I call them - since I started taking it. Docs say I need surgery....but so far I have had no pain or numbness or zingers, so I don't think I am going that direction anytime soon. I don't think it could hurt anyone to try it. I noticed that it worked when I started back drinking redbulls. Now I take it as an injection. But you can take it as pill form also, no Rx needed. > > I'm sure I spelled that wrong. Anyways I have this bad in my hands and feet and it's moving up my legs. What do you all take to help this. My understanding is the only way to stop it is to find what is wrong with me and help that, is that true? I'm really concerned about permanent damage. > > > > > __________________________________________________________ > Orlando Vacations - Click Here! > http://thirdpartyof <http://thirdpartyoffers.netzero.net/TGL2241/fc/Ioyw6i4uGWEKYhuXlgWgxJX> fers.netzero.net/TGL2241/fc/Ioyw6i4uGWEKYhuXlgWgxJX 5ov1JbIEL8lfAjwU4xp61BVrsyQvslx/ > >
