Guest guest
I have peripheral neuropathy in one foot and leg. I don't believe that there is a so-called " cure. " It is common in diabetics. I take Neurontin (gabapentin) and was on pain meds. It's the main reason for my filing for permanent disability. I started with a local neurologist, then went to a large teaching hospital nearby and ended up at The Neurological Institute of New York at Columbia University. They could not pinpoint any cause of my neuropathy. I think my diagnosis was lumbar plexitis - an inflammation of a nerve plexis or a group of nerves I think. Why? Who knows! It can be quite debilitating and I was using a walker at first, then a cane. I had to be extremely careful since I was falling down and it took me months before I could walk down a flight of stairs..I used to sit at the top step and go down one step at a time on my butt..LOL. I have a flight of stairs to get in or out of my apartment. With physical therapy, I gained strength in the leg so that I was able to walk unassisted. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Anyways I have this bad in my hands and feet and it's moving up my legs. What do you all take to help this. My understanding is the only way to stop it is to find what is wrong with me and help that, is that true? I'm really concerned about permanent damage. __________________________________________________________ Orlando Vacations - Click Here! http://thirdpartyof <http://thirdpartyoffers.netzero.net/TGL2241/fc/Ioyw6i4uGWEKYhuXlgWgxJX5ov1J bIEL8lfAjwU4xp61BVrsyQvslx/> fers.netzero.net/TGL2241/fc/Ioyw6i4uGWEKYhuXlgWgxJX5ov1JbIEL8lfAjwU4xp61BVrs yQvslx/
Guest guest
Hi Stella, I found the post and remember reading it. I have the burning and tingling in my back along my spine when I stand for more than 10 mins but my hands and feet are just numb. It's hard to explain. I also noticed that my legs are getting numb when my husband was scratching my thigh and I could not feel it very well. I was told by a neurologist that my nerves are fine and it's peripheral (sorry, I know I'm spelling it wrong) neuropathy and talked about a med for it but then that was all I heard about. What other auto immunes does your daughter have. I have Celiac Disease and the rheumy's first thought is it is all related to that and that I am not responding completely to the diet. I'm still waiting for test results to come back to get a course of action from him. I really don't know where to go from here. I know my internist is going to send me to a surgeon because I have 2 bulging disks in my lower back and maybe that is it but the report says they are not pinching any nerves and it does not explain the hands and those were the first things to go numb. Sorry, I know I'm not being any help to you. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Hi , I did a post earlier #116490 regarding this subject. Please read it and let me know if you have any similarities. Guest guest
I have an Unlar nerve leasion that causes it. I take b-6.It helps with nerve function. I haven't had any " zingers " - what I call them - since I started taking it. Docs say I need surgery....but so far I have had no pain or numbness or zingers, so I don't think I am going that direction anytime soon. I don't think it could hurt anyone to try it. I noticed that it worked when I started back drinking redbulls. Now I take it as an injection. But you can take it as pill form also, no Rx needed. > > I'm sure I spelled that wrong.
