Guest guest
Hi Dorothy - I think the reason the state you live in makes a difference in the amount of time it takes to get approved has to do more with the population of the state. I live in FL and there is a HUGE backlog which is why it is taking so long.........Doreen > > I find it so odd that the state would make a difference since it is > a federal program. >
Guest guest
HI All, I live in PA - does anyone have a length of time on this state. I applied in Feb 08 and got denied in May 08. I hired a lawyer but i am still waiting for my hearing date. The lawyer said i was probably denied because of my age. I am only 30 but i worked ever since high school (longer if you count babysitting lol). thanks for any info. shannon
Guest guest
I am in PA. I applied in May 2002 and was approved Sept 2002. I was 32 at the time off application and approval. I had worked from 1989 until 1997 yet did not apply until 2002 because I spent 4 and a half years trying to go BACK to work! Also... My disability is not for RA. I was blessed with that in 2007. The disability I qualified for was back injury. *~ Kami ~* [ ] Re: SSDI/Dorothy HI All, I live in PA - does anyone have a length of time on this state. I applied in Feb 08 and got denied in May 08. Guest guest
Group Dorothy I lived in two states now. I dont think there is any difference as you said its Federal. My sister sighned up and got it in six months, I sighned up and took 3 years and I am in a lot worse shape than my sister. Its crazy. lol Maybe its a chance they pull so many cases and approve immediately. I just dont know. gentle hugs Clora > Hi Dorothy - I think the reason the state you live in makes a > difference in the amount of time it takes to get approved has to do > more with the population of the state. Guest guest
, it may make you feel better knowing how close we were when I finally got approval. We had a $20 bill and nothing else when we got the first check! The only thing we had going for us was that we owned everything except for one truck, and disability insurance covered it. My retirement savings went also. My wife recently got her disability approval in 2 months and I was amazed at the speed of her application. We also learned that everything happens for a reason, when we were getting low on anything, something would happen to us to solve that problem, so I hope you have the same luck.
