Guest guest
I had a great day, too, Dana! I always cook for Thanksgiving for 15 relatives. I had a 27# fresh-killed turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, corn, asparagus, cranberries, creamed onions - the whole 9 yards! Do you believe I have almost no leftovers? This is the first time I've done it since I was diagnosed. My great family, they are so caring that they all jumped in to help because they know how fatigued I get. By the time everyone left, my house was sparkling clean and all the dishes were done and put away. I am so thankful that they are so supportive. What made it even better was that I was able to eat! Usually when I am smelling food all day like that, I can't even look at it once it gets to the table. I hope you found a great tree, we're putting our artificial one up tomorrow, but did some decorating and put up the outside lights today. I'd love to have a real tree, but we go to PA to see DH's family over Christmas, and I'm afraid of the fire hazard. I do get a couple of fresh wreaths to hang in the house, just to have the smell. Glad to hear that you're off the antibiotics! Marilyn Good Morning All Good Morning everyone!! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Wow! I actually cooked Thanksgiving dinner and lived through it! LOL Now I have a big mess to clean up and go shopping for that wonderful Christmas Tree that I can fit in my cluttered house! Mine and Kati tradition to go to the Farm Stand the day after Thanksgiving and get a tree! Wish me luck! All the decorations are in the attic! Bless you all and have a wonderful day!................Dana in PA, no longer on those antibiotics!!! Yes!!!!
Guest guest
I hope you have a nice weekend as well and a fun and safe train trip. Now try and get some sleep! -- Good morning all It is 2:00 am on a star filled night/morning (? not really sure what 2 am is) here in North Carolina where it is feeling a little like fall. I hadn't realized how few lights were in my neighborhood until I took out the trash a few minutes ago. It is wonderful to see so many stars. I am several days behind on email thanks to the combination of midterm week and the fact that I managed to get an ear infection and laryngitis that whopped me pretty good. I finished giving and grading exams and submitting grades about 6 last night. Unfortunatley I'll have to wait a few more days to catch up. I catch a train at 4:30 am to Florida -- the reason I am up at 2 am. I'll soon know how my belongings faired through the 3 hurricanes. We have Monday and Tuesday off of classes so my plan is to load the truck tomorrow and spend Sunday visiting friends and resting for the loading. I'll head back to NC on Monday. This is my first train trip and I am hoping that I can sleep on the trip down. I have been operating on 2-4 hours of sleep a night and it is taking a toll. Well time for me to shower and head out. I hope everyone has a safe weekend filled with many small moments of wonder and much happiness. Guest guest
Welcome Sandy. I have been on Pred., Sulfasalazine, Placquenil, and MTX inject. for over 3 years. These are helping me, and my flares are farther apart, and don't last as long. My RA is severe, and all my meds. are at the max. doses. I hope this info. helps you. I also have blood work done 1x a month to check the liver function, etc. It has always come back good. Wishing you pain free days. Hugs, Barbara > > i am new to the group, not sure how this works, have questions answers > would be appreciated. joints are severe on every x-ray, at this point > is there a safe method, to control this disease. al help would be > welcome. sandy >
Guest guest
Sandy, Welcome to the group. Have you ever taken any RA medications? Every medication can have side effects but most people do not experience them. I am on methotrexate, folic acid, enbrel and prednisone. I have my bloodwork done regularly and I have not had any major problems. I did try arava but my blood pressure went up and when I stopped taking it my blood pressure came back down. I have only been on enbrel for five weeks and my RA is still active, but it can take up to 3 months for it to work. I don't know if this helps any.
