Guest guest
I've been reading all the posts but missed replying to a couple because " I'll get to it later " . Thank you Clora for your prayers, I accept them anytime. Last Wednesday I went to my Rheumy for a checkup and got more than that. I've been having pains in my lower back that caused problems for me in both legs. Before I knew it, there were 2 syringes and 3 people in the room. The PA gave me both shots, one on each side of my spine, and now my pain level is about 2 instead of 8-9. And I have a script for some patches I didn't know about. The real drawback is that I'm feeling so good I can't sleep, even with all the meds I take before bed. I wonder how long that will last. It usually gets better and I think it will get better and it sneaks up behind me with no warning and I'm back to max pain again. I'm also having problems with my feet especially. I have similar to Reynauds where my feet and toes tingle, are numb, and cold or hot. I took my socks off Friday night and a little bit of skin that had clung to the elastic at top of the sock Now I have a bandaid on it and a larger patch on my skin below that one. The shin is an angry red and slightly sore, so I guess I'll have to take a round of anti-biotics. The doctor will let me know today, I hope. Well, enough rambling, I guess... Guest guest
Dennis, I am so glad that you are feeling so much better. By any chance was one or both of those shots a steroid? Prednisone makes it harder for me to doze off and when I have had steroid shots for my back I have a hard time sleeping for about a week. Guest guest
I was only told they were 'steroid' shots. I've had cortisone before and it never made this difference. My pain level this week is at or below 2, that's a real relief for me. I just wonder when the 'other shoe' is going to drop. Guest guest
I also had a cortisone shot. It the first time I ever had one. The pain was bad in my elbow that they had to give me a cortisone. The shot did not take effective really until week later. It did give me some relief there. I do have other pains. But this area is where I have the most pain. On Mon, Aug 11, 2008 at 7:23 PM, Dennis W wrote: I was only told they were 'steroid' shots. I've had cortisone before and it never made this difference. Guest guest
Dennis in texas and group; No hon, your not rambling, cause if you was that means we all are. Thank you, I love to say a prayer for everyone I have come across each night. I talk to the Lord about all my problems and everyones elses. He listens contently to me. You and all my group gets a prayer thankyou for replying to me. THe prednisone is really good. I only have about 2 more weeks till I quit the prednisone start the humira injections. I am a little nervous. Not because its an injection. But is it going to help the pain. The prednisone helps a lot. I can't do very much till the pain starts. Maybe it's because my muscles has gone to pot, and I will have to start moving slowly at first. I use the pain patches also. They are a lot of help. I put two on my lower back. Just below my waist and one across the top of my back close to my neck. Well I can't put them on myself, I have to have my husband or daughter put them on for me. Try the patches. It takes a couple hours to relize they are working. I have them rub the area with a little alcohol to get rid of any oil or dust on my back. It seems to work pretty good. I really pray you feel better. An 8 or 9 is not a good pain level. I told my doctor one day it was a 12 haaaaaaaaaaa, she was not amused lol. I was hurting that bad that day. She said well we go only to 10. I said tell my arthritis that haaaaaaaaa. YOu know I started feeling so good I couldnt sleep either lol. I thought oh no, Got to get some sleep lol. My hands and feet get numb too. I try to ignor it hoping it will go away. I got about 69 emails tonight. My husband put the comp in the living room, and it took him all day to get it working. I can't go to bed till I read them all haaaaaa. It's like an addiction to e-mail lol. I love to hear from all the support group. I like to answer all but if I did I would be up all night. So I get a few responses in. gentle hugs to everyone Clora > I've been reading all the posts but missed replying to a couple because > " I'll get to it later " .
