Dennis - Prolonged use of Prednisone will cause thinning of the skin.

You might want to have your GP take a look at it.

I was using a steroid cream for my ankles due to a rash I was getting

that was tied to my hypothyroidism and after a couple months I could

see a noticeable difference in the skin. Small capillaries could be

seen through the skin. The same can happen with from taking Prednisone

according to the documentation they give you with the Rx.

I'm way ahead of you, Bob. I spent 2 months with a Wound Nurse trying to

cure the last one. When I was only about 3 years into my treatment for RA, I

was taking 10 mg Prednisone. It came to the point that I couldn't put my

hand in my jeans pocket because it would rip the skin off the backs of my

hands. I still get nasty looking bruises for no apparent reason, I have

solid bruises from my hands to my elbows. Now it's only on that one leg and

not the other. Still scratching my head,
