Guest guest
Dennis - Prolonged use of Prednisone will cause thinning of the skin. You might want to have your GP take a look at it. I was using a steroid cream for my ankles due to a rash I was getting that was tied to my hypothyroidism and after a couple months I could see a noticeable difference in the skin. Small capillaries could be seen through the skin. The same can happen with from taking Prednisone according to the documentation they give you with the Rx. Guest guest
I'm way ahead of you, Bob. I spent 2 months with a Wound Nurse trying to cure the last one. When I was only about 3 years into my treatment for RA, I was taking 10 mg Prednisone. It came to the point that I couldn't put my hand in my jeans pocket because it would rip the skin off the backs of my hands. I still get nasty looking bruises for no apparent reason, I have solid bruises from my hands to my elbows. Now it's only on that one leg and not the other. Still scratching my head, Dennis in eastexas On Wed, Oct 15, 2008 at 6:56 PM, fullwave2 <w8nyy.1@...> wrote: > Dennis - Prolonged use of Prednisone will cause thinning of the skin. > You might want to have your GP take a look at it. > I was using a steroid cream for my ankles due to a rash I was getting > that was tied to my hypothyroidism and after a couple months I could > see a noticeable difference in the skin.
