Guest guest
I have to admit that i have enjoyed this thread, it's had a steady flow....lol. I've been semi-colon, and semi-seal. I've learned many things, mostly, that we are all way too educated about this process. However, I have saved some of these and the vitamin D ones because they made me laugh, even reminding me of that crazy episode with Lucille Ball doing the Vita mita vegamin commercial...remember that? So, from colons, to endoscopies, to vitamin d levels to whatever is ailing us, this is just the greatest group!!!! ok i'm just dying to get in the line " full of beans " ...but i'm not sure where to put it...Kami? Bob? Want to try? LOL Heidi in Mass... aka SEMI-COLON ~ In a message dated 10/15/2008 4:00:34 P.M. It is just too dangerous if you don't drink enough water with it. Can cause kidney failure and some other things. I had to do GoLytely, but I modified it. I know my system and know that I do not need a gallon of it. Took it half as often and drank about half of it. I also am missing part of my colon because of Crohn's. dd **************New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination. Dining, Movies, Events, News & more. Guest guest
No, she's supposed to contact that clinic early next week. We don't know what they'll order but when I had mine, it was drinking a gallon of yucch both times. It didn't work well the second time so the next one is a 2 day prep, whatever that means. Guest guest
Hi a - there has been alot on the news recently about the Fleet Phosphosoda, Visicol tablets and other versions containing sodium phosphate have been linked to severe kidney damage. " A team of doctors from the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons recently reported 21 cases of acute kidney failure from such products, including three that led to permanent dialysis and one to a kidney transplant. " Previously, just a few groups of patients, notably those with impaired kidneys or congestive heart failure, had been advised to avoid phosphate-based bowel preparations. " The new findings lengthen the list of people who may be especially vulnerable to kidney damage. Among the dozen or so groups now thought to have a slightly elevated risk are healthy elderly people, patients with unstable angina or who have had heart attacks and anyone who is especially likely to become dehydrated, including people who take certain hypertension drugs and people who do not drink enough fluid to replenish that lost in bowel cleansing. " http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/27/health/27cons.html?n=Top%2FNews%2FHealth%2FCol\ umns%2FThe%20Consumer Not to scare anyone, but the method of bowel cleansing should be thoroughly discussed with your doctor and make sure he/she is aware of any and all medications you take and illnesses you may suffer from. I've used this method in the past and not had any problems, but now with some of the RA meds that I take and the Blood Pressure medicine, it is definitely something else to consider for me.......Doreen > > Lots of liquids..well to anyone listening..the osmoprep was hard > too..big horse pills.
