Guest guest
I've asked here before about Orencia. After receiving some good feedback about it I started on it. My rheumy told me not to expect improvement 'til after the third treatment which is on the 19th of August. My part-time job is driving a 10-wheeler dump truck. It's really been a struggle with my hands/arms hurting so bad that I would cry while driving. But....last week Thurs & Fri I realized my hands didn't hurt so bad. I didn't even take my Aleve and Advil! I think I'm seeing real improvement! When I got home Thursday I was still pumped up enough that I fixed burgers and Parmesan potatoes from scratch and was still going after supper. This has been an eyeopening weekend! I had begun to think that nothing would help and suddenly it's working! My husband noticed the change in pain levels just by my facial expressions and my kids noticed my improved attitude! Thanks be to those who posted, prayed, and helped me with my fear of a new drug! In some of my previous posts I have mentioned my extreme levels of tiredness. It was becoming dangerous for my driving job. I never dozed off at the wheel but when parked waiting in line I did. My cousin who has RA told me that some of that is from the RA but to check my other medications to see if them might be compounding the problem. Boy! I am on Paxil, an antidepressant, for Seasonal Affective Disorder (which didn't improve for me to get off it this summer) and after reading the side effects...Voila! It causes drowsiness. Last week I started taking it at night. Smart move! I'm now sleeping better at night and I'm not so stinkin' sleepy at work. The guys I work with have noticed I'm not yawning all the time. Since the Orencia improvements and changing my time of taking Paxil I am becoming reaquainted with the information sheets on all my medications...not just my RA meds. I may still have to change up the timing on some of them but what a difference changing up one little pill has made! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
