Guest guest
Colonoscopies, dentists..Dave Barry..what next? lol Heidi....I know waht you're saying. I remember trying to keep my mouth open for a root canal....my jaw kept " clicking " . Can't explain it...I'd have it open wide and I could hear the jaw just click every once in awhile. I also can't stand the patronizing dental assistant...open wide...good job. Okay spit...good job. I asked her..do you work on a lot of little children? Oh yes..how did you know. Just a guess...telling me good job!! like I colored in the lines or something. I had to get dentures made and when the dentist put the mold in my mouth, I mentioned to her that I had a very small mouth (tho' Dave would beg to differ..lol) She assured me that that's okay they'll use a small adult denture mold. I swear even that was way too big. I said ..don't you have a large or medium child size? She finally got the mold in and said..wow, you do have a small mouth!!!!! Shocked. Duh!! It's my mouth, I should know. She kept telling the girls...oh poor thing....her mouth is so small.. Meanwhile, trying to wrestle the mold out of my mouth. Kept repeating to herself and the assts. oh poor thing..I'm sorry...Geesh.... dentists are worse than the drs sometimes. Take that tylenol...you'll probably need it. Hugs and good luck heidi... a ************** New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination. Dining, Movies, Events, News & amp; more. Guest guest
Thanks a... It sure has been an adventurous week. Next week should be a little calmer maybe? I have the eye Dr., my Physiatrist (for pain shots), a bone scan, results of neuro psych tests, possible results of biopsy from this week....oh what fun!!! weeeeeeeeeeeeeee......anyway, NO DENTIST!! I always thought they were a little off to want to stab people with sharp instruments anyway. I remember having those molds made that you speak of, what a nightmare....all I did was gag. I can barely get through x-rays. Oh and if the dental assistant smells like smoke and perfume...omg....that's awful!!!! Usually the Dentist doesn't....ok, I don't need to scare myself anymore now....I'm good until the 17th. One time I had to have 2 teeth pulled and bone graft? (SP) ...what a fiasco. I was given 4 valium, only to have me wide awake. I was at a specialists office. They gave me a comforter, a bear, a cd player, another valium, a large amount of novacaine. I was out of work for 2 days. When I went back, I could only work half a day as my face swelled up from being on the phone. I was allergic to the pain meds. It was awful. I swore I scared small children!!! Ok nightmares....my jaw is starting to feel better now though, and I'm glad to hear your stories too! Thanks for sharing. Guest guest
Heidi, In 1994, Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I had three crown extentions. It took 4 hours of continous work. When I left,I was to take two rights and drive 45miles on I85N to get to my exit. I took two rights and entered I285W. Drove one mile exited and attempted to maneuver Spaghetti Junction once again. I missed I85 again and continued one mile on I285E exited and attempted again. This time I succeeded to get I85, but south. I drove one mile exited and the was able to get onto I85 north. The worse part is I drive this area almost everyday and know these roads. I don't know how traffic there is on Wed. before Thanksgiving, in Atlanta it is HELL. It took me over an hour and a half to drive approx. 4 miles and I was starting to panic because the feeling was coming back and I should have already arrived home by this time. I had never had this done before and had no idea it was to chisel bone from my jaw. I looked like Popeye for at least a week. I guess they should have told me to bring a driver, but I didn't have one anyway. I don't think I should volunteer to give anyone a ride home from the dentist.
