Guest guest
Hi, I get nodules mostely on my nuckles and they can not be removed if they are indeed RA nodules. I live in SC and I actually had to have some moles removed and asked about a nodule and the dermologist said no way. That's my input. D. ltdavis_jrdavis@... From: flatsurfacesyndrome <flatsurfacesyndrome@...> Subject: [ ] nodules any one Date: Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 12:33 PM Hey everyone, I recently developed a lump at the end of my elbow and showed it to my rheumy. He was very concerned and wanted me to see a dermatologist. I went to see the derm and she came in with a resident they both looked at my elbow had a discussion about it and then she said she wanted to have another Dr. take a look at it. She went out and returned shortly with another Dr. the three of them looked and poked at my elbow they had a conversation involving many medical terms that went right over my head and decided that it needed to come off right then. They took a biopsy and I have to return in two weeks to get the sutures out and hear the results of the biopsy. The only thing I really understood is nodule because I have one in my lung. So my questions is: has any one else had to have something removed? Do nodules usually hurt? Thanks for your input. F.

I have firm nodules on my hands both palms) and a large bump on my wrist and a small lump on my elbow. No one can tell me about the nodules on my palms and I am going back on 19th about the others. Guest guest
, Yes nodules hurt - on me -, but thats not to say they do on everyone else. I have nodules on both hands and the back of both arms. The pain and heat radiating off the ones on the back of my elbows seems to be in direct proportion to how much I overuse them. The nodules on my hands seem to run with the weather more and I find myself gently caressing them, also snug gloves seem to help when they are at their worst. On the 1-10 pain scale my hands are always at a constant 4, the weather, over worked, even sleeping on them wrong, any number of things can bounce that 4 up to a 6-8 easily. My Primary Care Phys. said with R.A. it's a doubles game - if you get a nodule on one side of your body you will get one on he other side. The " mirror effect " is one way of ruling it in if it's an R.A. thingy or if it's something else that needs to be checked out. You said you only had the one so, it's good that you had it checked out. Let us know what the Doctor says it is when the results are back. liken unto Harvey we will need " The Rest Of The Story. Guest guest
F and Group; Omg 5 doctors for a bump. I hate it when they use terms I cant make heads nor tail out of. Haaaaaaaaaaa Ya think they do that on purpose? Or is there a secret languge amongst doctors?? I know it's serious. I have went through it too. When they told me I have congestive heart failure, I went into a fog. Had no idea except my dad died from congestive heart failure. The doctor even sat in front of me in eye level. (never done that before) And said it in easy terms for me. Clora your heart is to weak to pump for your body. I went home and prepared to die. It has been a year. Wow I am still alive. Now I am preparing to live. Omg I thought he was telling me i was dieing. I didnt know people can live with congestive heart failure. I write down everything now and go home and look it up. That don't always work either. I Looked up RA and kept hearing the same thing. Autoimunne disease and blood work. Finally I took a jump into group support. I was never interested in group support anything. I guess I had no choice. I am so glad I did, I understand everyone here. even the doctor that has joined. I told my rheumy we had a doctor in the group and she was amazed. Anyway they took a biopsy of the knot you should find out what it is soon. please let us know what they determnin. gentle hugs Clora > Hey everyone, > I recently developed a lump at the end of my elbow and showed it to my > rheumy. I check all the time for the start of any because grandma had golf ball like nodules on her hands. Clora >
Guest guest
I have (had) one on my left elbow for years! Sometimes it was sore and sometimes it wasn't -- when I quit smoking, it decreased dramatically in size. Can' hardly tell its there. And there is no more pain. No lie!! Weird huh? Guest guest
, I have a nodule on my right elbow and I have shown it to my PCP and my rheumy and they have never made a big deal about it. I was told that it was a rheumatoid nodule. It only hurts when I have a major flare...but other then that, I have done nothing about it. I also have one on my right lung and my rheumy said it was a rheumatoid nodule and that was it. I guess they might have sent you to see a dermatologist because it may not be a rheumatoid nodule. Especially if it changed in size, color etc. I hope it's nothing serious. > > Hey everyone, > I recently developed a lump at the end of my elbow and showed it to my > rheumy. Guest guest
Dorthy and Group; Omg Dorthy your right. I became closer to God anyway lol. Now I see life in a different view. I feel like I got another chance in life. I didnt know I was going to live haaaaa. I know its not funny I can't help but laugh. I love my family. I love everyone so much more now. I didnt give up believe you me I fought it tooth and nail. Take my meds regular. I find the facts now. Talking to others with the same illness helps a lot. Actually since I found out about the congestive heart, the RA got worse and I was in so much pain I didnt care if I lived or died till I found this support group. Everyone here showed me how to get back to living and not existing only. I went to my rhuemy and showed her my pain and she began to help me. THe ones that was here I told about my pain and they understood me. I was so happy, Woo hoo the pain is bearable now. I talked to God and said you will not put more on me than I can bear and everything started getting better. Wow you guy are great I love you all. I didnt care what side affects any med had if it worked I took it. I love to read the post so much. Everyone's post seem to give me strength to go on. I began to relize how strong a support group is. I felt like if you can do so can I and you ( the group ) are worse off than me. I get so mad at the government when I hear some one cant get medical help. Well, I think I am rambling on. Take care, keep posting . Gentle sweet hugs to all of you Clora > > My goodness, Clora..don't EVER prepare to die!! Guest guest
a, The lump was hard skin colored, and hurt when it touched anything. It woke me up at night if I rolled over and came in contact with the sheets. It was in the skin not part of the bone. I do have another on my other elbow but it is much smaller and does not hurt (yet) From what I have been reading it does not sound like it was a nodule, I guess I will have to wait and see. I have taken my father in many times to have skin cancer removed on his head and it did not look anything like that. Clora, I am so sorry that you had such a scare I am glad that you have learned more about CHF and are no longer preparing to die, we need you and all your great posts. Thanks to everyone who gave me great information. I will just have to wait for the biopsy results. Hopefully it is nothing and they will not want to go after my other elbow. I never realized how hard it is to find a bandaid/bandage that will stay put on your elbow. I am suppose to clean and change the bandage twice a day. I have had several trips to the drugstore to find just the right kind. Hugs, F -- In , " patandpaula " <patandpaula@...> wrote: > > , what does it look like? Is it hard or soft or moveable? Guest guest
I had nodules on my elbows, and they didn't hurt. After I had been on Enbrel for a while, the nodules disappeared.
