Guest guest
Hi Sue, and welcome to our group. Congrat. on your new baby girl. It stinks to be in all that RA pain, and I hope the Fish Oil helps you. I tried it, but it made me so sick to my stomach I stopped it. I hope you get some pain relief soon. RA flares are hard to endure day after day. Wishing you pain free days. I know it must be awful having such a flare with little ones though. I pray you get some relief soon. Guest guest
Hi Sue, Congratulations on your daughter, is she your first child!? I've heard lots of women have no RA pain during pregnancy, and then a few months later, after childbirth, its back;( I wonder why. The Enbrel and Prednisone isn't helping you. What dose of Prednisone are you on? Does he want to take you off the Prednisone? The Enbrel usually works better with mtx, maybe this is what he's trying to do. If the Enbrel isn't working well on its own, that is usually what the next step is. You will have to decide if your ready for mtx. I see its a hot topic here on the group. I have taken mtx for six years. I've had to go off it several times, but not for that long. I've taken pills and the injection, and I take injection now, to avoid the nausea, etc. I have no problems right now with it. Are you on any pain meds? You might ask the rheumy about something for pain, to help you. I could not make it through the day without my pain meds. I've been on Lortab for a long time. My rheumy wanted to put me on the next step of pain meds, but I would have to visit the office once a month, and I live too far to do that right now. I visit every three months, but later on in the future, I might have to. I hope gas prices go down a LOT more. I've heard fish oil if good for RA. Its been on my list to pick some up at Walmart, the next time I shop. I'm glad it worked for you, and hope it helps you now. It sounds like you have a lot of inflammation. > > hey everyone, my name is Sue and i have had RA since 2002. i have taken > a lot of different meds but now im on Embrel, and pred. now the dr > wants me to take mtx again and i just don't want to do it because of > the bad effects. i had a 9 month break from my RA but now my girl is 3 > months and last month my RA came back with a bad flare. my RA factor > was 404 last week on my rheumy visit. i haven't seen that in a while > so. yeah i hurt, it was nice being pain free for a while though. > > during my pregnancy the OB doc had me take fish oil for the baby's > development. since i had her though i haven't made it a point to take > it. i was just on the arthritis foundation web site though and fish oil > (2.6 g twice a day) they say helps with inflamation so now i am going > to start taking it again and see if it helps. it has to be better than > all the 600mg motrin i am taking. just can't stand to get up from > sitting these days. my elbows and knees...well they are killing me. > > anyways just wanted to say hi and hope everyone has a painfree day today >
