Thanks for the explanation. So, can my gynocologist prescribe these

natural hormones? Robyn

Hello Sylvia,

I have 4 fibroids that are growing about 1 to 2 cm a year from the discovery.

The largest are around 7 cm. I got two doctors names from this web site and my

GP is trying to get me in to see at least one of them. I have to admit the

surgery does frighten me and I am so close to menopause that I have been doing a

wait and see. I keep thinking of a myo but after I read some of the report that

Carla supplied us last week it looks like myos may have the highest rate of

complications depending on the size and blood flow. I need to talk to a gyn who

is informed and decide.

Sylvia,

Sorry I forgot to mention the symptons. For me it is mostly pressure on my

bladder which is problem and feeling like I am carrying a bowling ball. I am in

the process of losing 30 pounds so although I have always felt them now you can

see them protrude from my abdomen. During my period I have one to two days of

heavy bleeding so that isn't too bad. I starting using progesterone cream about

2 years ago and I found it made a huge difference in breast tenderness and it's

supposed to help keep the fibroids from growing.

Thanks for the information. My hysterectomy is scheduled for April, but I

don't think I can go through with it. I would like to see if progesterone

can shrink them, but my doctors, I have been through two now, never

recommend anything else but a hysterectomy.

Sylvia,

Your email address indicates you are fom Ohio. The Cleveland Clinic in

Cleveland sounds like it has some of the best doctors and there have been women

on this emailing who go , so maybe you can go to at least on for another

opinion. Hopefully you aren't too far from Cleveland. It might be worth the

trip.
